About the team

The Touring Buyer Experience (TBEX) team owns the end-to-end touring experience across web, iOS, and Android. We work as a cross-platform product engineering team with shared ownership of the customer experience, partnering across functions to build seamless, measurable experiences that help more customers move confidently through their home-buying journey. We are also deeply AI-forward in how we build with standard AI-assisted coding across the team, shipping across all parts of the stack with on-call and cross-stack ownership.

About the role

This is not a standard Senior Software Development Engineer role. We’re looking for a mobile product builder who can take an ambiguous idea and turn it into a shipped, instrumented, and continuously improving customer experience. In this role, you’ll partner closely with product, design, and engineering peers to shape solutions, build across mobile and supporting services when needed, and use AI-assisted tools as part of day-to-day development while remaining accountable for quality, correctness, customer experience, and results.

You Will Get To

  • Turn ambiguous product ideas into clear scope, technical plans, tradeoffs, and success metrics.

  • Build and improve mobile experiences across iOS and Android, contributing to backend services or APIs when needed.

  • Partner closely with product, design, data, and engineering teammates to shape solutions and challenge assumptions.

  • Balance cross-platform consistency with thoughtful platform-specific user experience decisions.

  • Ship features with the right testing strategy, rollout plan, monitoring, and rollback safeguards.

  • Use production signals, customer behavior, and metrics to learn from launches and improve the experience over time.

  • Raise the quality bar through design feedback, code reviews, mentoring, and strong day-to-day engineering practices.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City, as we recommend attendance at occasional office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • You have significant experience building and shipping production mobile applications on iOS and/or Android.

  • You are comfortable working across the stack, including mobile clients, APIs, services, and data considerations, when needed to deliver outcomes.

  • You have experience supporting production systems, participating in on-call rotations, and using observability and operational signals to guide improvements.

  • You have a track record of owning features end to end, from ambiguous problem definition through launch and post-launch iteration.

  • You bring strong technical, product, and business judgment, and can connect engineering decisions to customer and company impact.

  • You collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and communicate clearly in writing and verbally, including in asynchronous environments.

  • You have depth in one mobile platform and working familiarity with the other, with the ability to reason about cross-platform experiences and backend-connected issues.

  • You are comfortable using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day work while maintaining accountability for quality, correctness, and customer experience.

  • Here at Zillow - we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. We encourage you to apply if you have transferable skills or related experiences.
