About the role

As a Loan Review Specialist, you’ll play a key role in reviewing closed mortgage loans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before they move through investor delivery. In this role, you’ll manage a pipeline of files with competing deadlines, identify and escalate issues that could delay purchase, and help ensure loans are delivered with a high level of quality. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys detailed file review, works well in a fast-paced production environment, and wants to make a direct impact on operational efficiency and loan purchase capacity.

You Will Get To:

  • Complete detailed reviews of closed loan files to ensure documents meet investor and internal audit requirements

  • Confirm all required loan-level tasks are completed in the loan system before files are shipped to investors

  • Review loan delivery status for shipped files, troubleshoot issues, and escalate errors or delays as needed

  • Manage a pipeline of loans with competing deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and turnaround times

  • Enter and validate investor loan information and servicing details accurately in the appropriate systems

  • Escalate systemic issues, complex scenarios, and recurring defects to leadership for timely resolution

  • Support quality assurance efforts by identifying trends, surfacing recurring issues, and sharing feedback that improves team performance

  • Partner with cross-functional teams on new programs, process improvements, documentation updates, and testing of workflow enhancements

  • Support onboarding and peer training by sharing best practices and serving as a resource for less complex process questions

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $22.80 - $34.20 hourly. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont the standard base pay range for this role is $21.70 - $32.50 hourly. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

Who you are

  • 2+ years of experience in mortgage operations, preferably in post-closing, loan delivery, or a similar production-focused environment

  • Experience reviewing loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with investor or internal requirements

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

  • Ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and escalate risks appropriately

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with teammates and partner groups

  • Comfortable learning and navigating mortgage systems and workflow tools in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working in Encompass or similar mortgage loan systems

  • Preferred: Knowledge of government loan programs, including FHA and VA guidelines

  • Preferred: Experience with Jumbo, manufactured home, bond, or down payment assistance loan products
