Position Summary: The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting and Finance department including but not limited to overall accounting tasks and reconciliations within the organization. This position participates in all accounting processes and requires strong communication skills, excellent customer service, professionalism, and accounting skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of A/P, credit cards, and employee expenses and reimbursements
  • Complete daily accounting tasks such as recording cash receipts, processing disbursements, and processing vendor purchase orders
  • Analyze A/R aging and provide recommendations for bad debt
  • Reconcile accounts including A/R, sales tax, bad debt, deferred revenue, fixed assets, and bank statements
  • Assist with the review of customer contracts and the setup of revenue recognition and billing schedules in NetSuite
  • Assist with accounts receivable and collections efforts
  • Inventory tracking and reconciliations
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting
  • Assist with year-end Audit and Tax supporting documents
  • Assist with ongoing process improvements including the use of AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the SaaS/PaaS industry, regulations, and revenue recognition
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance functions
  • Experience with one or more of NetSuite, Salesforce, Avalara, and Ramp
  • Ability to work and react quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skills including lookups, sumifs, and pivot tables
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and multi-tasking are essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with NetSuite
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely effectively
  • EST – MST time zones preferred

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Work Environment: This position is remote and requires a designated workspace.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, sit, and remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Use of hands and fingers to occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets and operate equipment such as computers, calculators, and printers/copiers
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to maintain files or organize office space
  • Ability to accurately communicate and share information
  • Ability to observe details at close range when conducting business via computer, phone, and other workplace devices
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment or boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across various workspaces
  • Exposure to indoor weather conditions
