Lending at Valon

Valon is scaling up its mortgage lending business, which aims to provide Valon homeowners the ability to access low-cost, streamlined mortgage loans and give Valon partners tools they need to retain customers. As a member of the Lending Department, you will make it faster, easier, and cheaper for homeowners to get loans by reinventing the homeowner’s journey. We are looking for experienced and innovative individuals who are eager to transform the mortgage industry for the better by building our team and business.

About this Role

The Mortgage Loan Officer Producing Manager will provide loan solutions for existing and prospective customers of Valon Mortgage. This individual will report to the Head of Sales and be responsible for managing a team of MLOs while also maintaining an individual pipeline. This individual must embrace the player-coach mentality, helping team members to deliver great results while demonstrating excellence as an individual contributor.

Location: Onsite (Our office located in Phoenix, AZ)

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Consumer Direct Mortgage Loan Officers, empowering them to meet their production targets
  • Evaluate team performance for quality, including listening to calls, reviewing borrower communications, and reviewing loan files
  • Proactively train team members on relevant requirements and procedures
  • Recommend loan solutions to Valon’s existing portfolio of servicing and prospective customers sourced through strategic initiatives
  • Collect and analyze customer financial documentation as required by investor guidelines
  • Manage customer pipeline to meet required pull-through ratios

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, TRID, and CFPB
  • Thorough understanding of the underwriting process as well as agency and investor requirements
  • Strong communicator with excellent writing abilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of mortgage originations experience
  • 2+ years of consumer direct mortgage experience
  • 2+ years of experience with management
  • Active MLO state licenses in NMLS
  • Ability to acquire and maintain MLO state licenses throughout employment
  • Experience with industry technology (e.g. DU, LP, Encompass, CRMs, dialers, BI tools)
