We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Lead Site Framer to install prefabricated floor systems, panelized frames, and build roofs on site. You will also lead the team of 5 site Framers. In this role you will preform a variety of tasks involving physical labor and are required to operate equipment and hand and power tools.

What you will do:

  • Assemble/finish pre-built wall, floor, and build roof structures
  • Examine and understand specifics of blueprints and building plans to prepare project layouts to determine the dimensions and materials required for building the frame for a house
  • Perform back framing to complete the homes.
  • Guide the site logistics and craning
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools such as saws, drills, nail guns, framer’s squares, and measuring tapes.
  • Provide on the job training & mentorship to other employees.
  • Maintain safety standards in the work place.
  • Follow quality control procedures.
  • Work with the construction and procurement manager to ensure timely planning of resources.
  • Participate actively in problem solving sessions, continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

What you will need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in framing position leading a team.
  • Journeyman Carpenter certification is an asset
  • Proficient in building codes
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software is a strong asset
  • Team work oriented.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and good communication skills.
  • Residential construction knowledge.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules.
  • Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
  • Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or material up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
