Job Description

We’re looking for an Accountant to join Procore’s Accounting team. In this role, you’ll perform daily accounting tasks, account analysis, and month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The primary goal of this role is to support the Accounting team through high-quality financial analysis, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.

As an Accountant, you’ll partner with Accounting, Finance, and Audit teams to execute key close processes, analyze financial data, and present insights that support business decisions. Use your attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in accounting operations. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting and is a hybrid role based in our Heredia, Costa Rica office (3 days in-office, 2 days from home). We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

  • Support daily and monthly accounting functions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

  • Prepare general ledger entries, maintain records and files, and gather information for financial statement preparation.

  • Provide accounting support for corporate transactions and internal reporting needs.

  • Analyze assigned areas and present findings to management, explaining account fluctuations and unusual transactions.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.

  • Research, analyze, and interpret financial data to answer accounting and business questions.

  • Prepare internal and external financial reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and relevant departments.

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and assist with external audit requests.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting required.

  • Experience in a large accounting firm and/or corporate industry environment preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial data analysis tools.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when handling large volumes of financial data.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong computer skills, including experience with accounting and business software systems.
