Who you are
Metropolis is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the timely and accurate preparation and review of monthly client statements in accordance with lease and management agreements. You are a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional who takes ownership of complex financial reporting and thrives in an environment that values automation and process improvement. In this role, you will partner closely with the Finance and General Accounting departments to ensure the financial integrity of our real estate partnerships while meeting critical deadlines with independence and precision.
What you'll do
- Prepare monthly reports of revenue, profit, rental, and fees due to/from real estate partners pursuant to contract agreements
- Execute disbursements as required based on lease and management commitments
- Perform monthly reconciliations and audit financial statements to ensure reporting integrity
- Conduct account analysis and test accrual, receivable, and payable balances
- Assist the General Accounting Department with quarterly G/L account analysis
- Support the Finance Department with monthly Aged Trial Balance reviews and explain slow-paying accounts
- Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accurate financial records
- Contribute to automation initiatives to streamline accounting workflows
- Interface with all levels of employees and management to facilitate financial clarity
- Meet all reporting and financial deadlines without reminders
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 4+ years of general accounting experience, including bank reconciliations, account analysis, and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general knowledge of computer systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with external clients and internal partners
- Demonstrated understanding of journal entries and the flow of information through a general ledger
- Proven research and problem-solving skills used to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
- High level of organization and self-motivation, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take full ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Professional interpersonal skills with experience engaging effectively across all levels of management
While not required, these are a plus:
- Experience with SAP or Oracle systems

The anticipated base salary for this position is $100,000.00 USD to $110,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more. #LI-AW1 #LI-Onsite
