About the Role

Our Client is seeking a Building Systems Engineer in the Boston area to join our team and ensure client properties are fully optimized for seamless integration with our platform.
Drawing on your engineering expertise and familiarity with HVAC automation and control systems, you will collaborate with Sales and Operations to support accurate scoping, smooth setup, and ongoing optimization across the building portfolio. The ideal candidate is curious, motivated, and enthusiastic about advancing innovation in energy and clean technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Assessments: Conduct on-site evaluations of client properties to define project scopes, including projected energy savings, installation costs, and available utility incentives.
  • Sales Support: Provide technical expertise to the sales team throughout the business development process.
  • Incentive Programs: Lead participation in utility rebate and incentive programs by preparing required documentation, coordinating with utility partners, and supporting inspections to maximize benefits.
  • Process Improvement: Create and refine internal tools and procedures—such as templates, checklists, and standardized workflows—to streamline project execution.
  • Service Support: Assist the service delivery team with troubleshooting, optimization, and targeted customer engagement.
  • Operational Efficiency: Contribute to initiatives that improve team effectiveness, including workflow enhancements, tool development, and client support from installation through project completion.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Engineering, with a focus or strong interest in HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of practical experience in one or more of the following:
    • Energy engineering
    • MEP engineering
    • Building automation
  • Travel: Willingness to visit client sites within the greater Boston area.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Mindset: Proactive self-starter with a growth mindset, eager to take on new challenges and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Learning Agility: Able to quickly absorb new information and independently manage tasks after initial guidance.
  • Process Improvement: Comfortable identifying inefficiencies, closing gaps, and refining internal workflows.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with utility incentive programs
    • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and controls
    • Background in controls commissioning
