The Role

Our client is hiring a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead the technical execution and architectural direction of a growing SaaS platform. This role is approximately 70% focused on technical leadership and architecture, and 30% on team development and strategic alignment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving delivery of complex, enterprise-grade features
• Evolving a scalable multi-tenant architecture and robust data model
• Embedding AI/LLM capabilities throughout the product
• Building and scaling engineering processes and team structure
• Supporting investor and customer conversations with technical depth

You will collaborate closely with executive leadership to shape the engineering culture and lay the groundwork for scaling the platform into a market leader.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership G Execution
• Lead and grow a high-performing remote engineering team
• Establish disciplined development processes to drive velocity and quality
• Improve collaboration, tooling, and accountability within engineering Platform Architecture G Data Systems
• Own and evolve our unified data model for workflows and resources
• Architect scalable, multi-tenant SaaS backend systems, including permissions and integrations
• Ensure enterprise-grade scalability, reliability, and extensibility AI G Intelligent Systems
• Integrate LLM-powered features for summarization, recommendations, and contextual task automation
• Build data pipelines and platform intelligence to deliver real-time insights
• Leverage structured workflow and resource data to enable AI-driven decisions Product Collaboration
• Translate technical possibilities into roadmap opportunities in collaboration with the leadership team
• Support roadmap execution by unblocking developers and aligning architecture with product needs
• Provide technical input to customer and investor meetings

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing and scaling software products
• 2+ years in an engineering leadership role (preferably at a startup or early-stage company)
• Deep knowledge of backend architecture, systems design, and data modeling
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML (especially LLMs for tasks like summarization, recommendations, and automation) into production systems
• Track record of shipping quickly in high-growth environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to align technical work with business goals
• Comfortable operating in a fully remote, high-autonomy culture
