Building Intelligence Management Engineer

A growing company in the smart building and clean energy space is looking for a Building Intelligence Management Engineer to support project delivery and system integration across its West Coast portfolio.

About the Role
You’ll be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of intelligent building integrations; from site assessments and technical scoping through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing optimization. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, process thinking and field coordination. You’ll work closely with sales, operations and engineering teams to deliver high-performance solutions that help commercial buildings run more efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the local expert on building automation systems, HVAC controls and energy optimization strategies
- Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate integration needs and potential energy savings
- Use internal modelling tools to analyze utility data and site-specific technical details
- Oversee installations and commissioning, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met
- Ensure seamless integration between field devices and backend software systems
- Assist with testing control logic and performance tuning in collaboration with internal teams
- Support proposal development with technical insights and feasibility analysis
- Stay informed on relevant local regulations, energy policies and incentive programs
- Provide ongoing technical support for active projects and operational sites
- Build relationships with regional contractors (electrical, mechanical, controls)
- Contribute to improving internal processes and systems to support operational growth
Qualifications
5-10 years’ experience in one or more of the following: MEP engineering
Building automation/controls
Energy services or auditing
Willingness to travel for on-site visits across the region
Strong learning mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Process-driven and proactive, with attention to detail and efficiency
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing installation or retrofit projects
- Familiarity with building automation platforms and control systems
- Hands-on work with Tridium Niagara or similar systems
