Role overview
Our Client is looking for a Product Designer to take the lead on crafting user experiences for a platform focused on simplifying complex planning in the sustainability space. You’ll be instrumental in designing clear, intuitive workflows that help users confidently make impactful decisions around building-related climate action.
This is a high-ownership role with significant influence on the direction of the product. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including leadership, product, and engineering to develop scalable design solutions that lower barriers to sustainable transformation.
Our Client is seeking someone who’s curious, collaborative, and thrives in early-stage, fast-paced environments where ideas move quickly from concept to reality.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify gaps in current user understanding and develop a structured research plan to fill them using appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Design end-to-end, implementation-ready experiences for a new SaaS product – defining user needs, structuring information architecture, and establishing consistent, intuitive terminology.
- Create key design artifacts such as journey maps, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to communicate and evolve design concepts.
- Use contemporary research techniques to validate ideas and ensure user interactions are seamless, accessible, and effective.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate insights into clear product requirements and deliver well-documented, high-quality solutions.
- Maintain strong design standards, utilizing existing design systems and component libraries (e.g., Material UI, Human Interface Guidelines) as needed.
- Work directly with the CETO to ensure product roadmap milestones are hit, providing updates and aligning UX strategies with overall product development goals.
Skills & Experience
- You’re deeply passionate about user research and well-versed in both qualitative and quantitative methods, with a knack for transforming insights into meaningful action.
- You bring a clear, thoughtful perspective on what defines a great user experience—and you advocate for it, especially when it safeguards users from making misinformed or risky decisions.
- You thoughtfully balance user needs, business objectives, and technical realities, approaching trade-offs with care and practicality.
- You’re comfortable working with data and skilled at crafting clear, compelling narratives through effective visual storytelling.
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Designer within early to mid-stage SaaS companies.
- 4+ years of experience working with modern design tools, with a solid track record of creating polished, high-fidelity prototypes.
- Demonstrated ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly digital experiences.
Background
- You’re a self-starter who’s comfortable leading projects from concept to execution with minimal oversight or direction.
- Your design process is rooted in curiosity—you ask the right questions, seek out diverse perspectives, and dig deep to understand the full picture.
- You’re energized by ambiguity and excel in evolving environments where flexibility, exploration, and continuous learning are essential.
- Communication is one of your strengths—whether you’re engaging with users, collaborating with teammates, or aligning with stakeholders.
- You’re thoughtful about when and how to bring others into the process, guiding them with clarity, empathy, and a shared sense of purpose.
- You’re driven by a passion for climate solutions and clean technology, bringing a mission-oriented, action-focused mindset to everything you do.
- You thrive in a culture grounded in honesty, constructive feedback, and genuine care—where high standards are a shared commitment, fuelled by mutual respect and a collective purpose.
