Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, electricians, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want.

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

Jobber is on a mission to empower home service providers to run, grow, and optimize their businesses—transforming the way small businesses operate, scale, and achieve their ambitions. We’re relentlessly customer-focused, embedding deep insights and advanced AI directly into our product to deliver exceptional experiences and tangible results for our customers.

The Foundations team sits at the core of Jobber’s product experience.

As part of Product Design, this team is responsible for the shared systems, patterns, and platform foundations that help our product scale. Their work makes it easier for teams across Jobber to build consistent, high-quality experiences across web and mobile.

Foundations brings together our design system, mobile foundations, and web patterns. By creating and evolving shared components, interaction patterns, and standards, the team helps product teams move faster without sacrificing quality, usability, or consistency.

This team partners closely with product designers, product managers, and engineers across the company. The work is highly collaborative and highly practical: solve real product needs, improve how teams build, and strengthen the experience for the service professionals who use Jobber every day.

The role:

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Product Design to lead Foundations Design at Jobber.

This is a player-coach role. You’ll lead a small team of designers while also contributing directly to the evolution of our design system and foundational product experiences. That means setting direction, coaching people, and staying close to the work—shaping components, patterns, documentation, and standards that support quality at scale.

You’ll partner closely with engineering and product design to make sure our systems solve real product problems and are built in a way that helps teams move faster. You’ll play a key role in improving consistency, accessibility, and usability across Jobber’s platform, while helping define how our foundations evolve as the company grows.

This role is a strong fit for someone who cares deeply about craft, has a systems mindset, and knows how to lead with both clarity and action. You understand that great foundations work is not just about creating reusable pieces—it’s about making the product better, helping teams be more effective, and raising the bar across the organization.

As a Senior Manager,Product Design, you will:

  • Lead design for Jobber’s Foundations team, shaping the systems that support scalable, consistent product experiences.

  • Manage and support a small team of designers through coaching, feedback, and career development.

  • Work as a player-coach, contributing directly to component design, interaction patterns, documentation, and system improvements.

  • Partner closely with engineering to evolve the architecture, quality, and scalability of Jobber’s design system and platform foundations.

  • Collaborate with product designers across the organization to identify gaps, prioritize improvements, and make sure the system supports real product needs.

  • Champion consistency, accessibility, and usability across Jobber’s product experiences.

  • Help drive adoption of the design system by building strong relationships with product teams and making the system practical and valuable to use.

  • Contribute to planning and prioritization for the team, including sprint work and roadmap direction.

  • Refine the long-term vision for Foundations in a way that supports Jobber’s product strategy and growth.

  • Improve workflows, documentation, and tooling so teams can build more efficiently.

  • Advocate for design quality and help raise the overall craft of Jobber’s product experience.

To be successful, you should have:

  • 8+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally in complex SaaS environments.

  • 4+ years of experience managing or mentoring designers.

  • 4+ years of experience contributing meaningfully to a design system, component library, or platform product.

  • Experience working in a player-coach leadership role, balancing people leadership with hands-on design work.

  • Strong skills in interaction design and systems thinking, with a portfolio that shows thoughtful, scalable product work.

  • Experience partnering closely with engineers on component implementation and front-end architecture.

  • Deep proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, including shared component libraries.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • A systems mindset and a strong instinct for patterns, frameworks, and scalable solutions.

  • A high bar for design craft and a commitment to improving quality across teams.

  • Experience improving design system adoption, governance, or contribution models.

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React. Direct contribution to front-end implementation is a strong plus.

  • Motivation to build thoughtful products that help small businesses succeed.

Location:

We believe great collaboration is intentional, and sometimes that means coming together in person to build, brainstorm, and connect. To support this, the role is open to candidates based in one of our hub cities: Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo.

Compensation:

At Jobber, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and supportive of your experience and growth. Our salary ranges are designed to reflect the progression from learning the role to truly excelling. This role has an annual salary of:

Canada: minimum annual salary of $196,300 CAD, a midpoint of $230,900 CAD, and a maximum salary of $265,600 CAD.

We design our compensation to reflect each new hire’s skills, experience, and the complexity of the role, ensuring a fair and competitive salary. Our range is intentionally broad to support growth and long-term impact, with fully established hires typically starting around the midpoint. The higher end of the range is reserved for those who have demonstrated deep expertise and lasting contributions, while offers below the midpoint reflect strong potential with room to develop. This approach ensures that compensation aligns with both an individual’s current capabilities and their opportunity for future growth.

Base salary is just one part of a total compensation package that will include equity rewards, annual stipends for health and wellness, retirement savings matching, and an extended health package with fully paid premiums for body and mind. Your professional growth matters to us too! You’ll have access to a dedicated talent development program that includes career coaching and opportunities for career development.

We believe in transparency and open conversations about compensation. If you have any questions about our approach, we’re happy to discuss them throughout the hiring process!

What you can expect from Jobber:

  • A total compensation package that includes an extended health benefits package with fully paid premiums for both body and mind, matching in RRSP, TFSA or FHSA, and stock options.

  • A dedicated Talent Development team and access to coaching, learning, and leadership programs to help you grow your career, reach your goals, and unlock your full potential.

  • A unique opportunity to build, grow, and leave your impact on a $400-billion industry that has no dominant player...yet.

  • To work with a group of people who are humble, supportive, and give a sh*t about our customers.

We believe that diverse teams perform better and that fostering an inclusive work environment is a key part of growing a successful team. We welcome people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.
