About the role
We’re looking for an experienced, relationship-driven Strategic Business Development Executive in the Western US territory to join our growing GTM team. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, this role is designed for someone who brings deep commercial real estate experience, an existing network, and the ability to create new opportunities from day one.
As a Strategic BDE , you’ll take a strategic, consultative approach to identifying and engaging key accounts — leveraging your market knowledge and relationships to generate high-quality pipeline for our Account Executives. You’ll serve as a trusted industry voice, connecting HqO’s platform to real-world challenges faced by landlords, property managers, and tenant experience professionals.
This is a hybrid-position with regular travel to our Boston office for in-person collaboration when not in the field.
What you'll do
- Drive high-impact pipeline: Leverage your commercial real estate experience and network to open doors, generate qualified opportunities, and accelerate deal creation.
- Target key accounts strategically: Partner closely with AEs to identify and prioritize target portfolios, ownership groups, and property teams that align with HqO’s ideal customer profile.
- Build relationships that convert: Engage senior stakeholders (owners, asset managers, tenant experience leads) through consultative conversations that uncover pain points and align value to need.
- Be an industry expert: Represent HqO at meetings, site visits, and industry events, positioning yourself — and HqO — as trusted advisors in the evolving proptech landscape.
- Collaborate for impact: Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to ensure messaging, feedback, and customer insights are shared to improve our GTM motion.
- Own the top of funnel: Manage your territory, pipeline, and outreach strategy with independence and accountability — from initial engagement through qualified handoff to AEs.
What you bring
- Experience: 3–5+ years in commercial real estate, ideally in brokerage, property management, or tenant experience roles with a strong professional network across the industry.
- Sales mindset: Demonstrated success in driving business development, sourcing opportunities, or managing client relationships that lead to measurable outcomes.
- Industry expertise: Deep understanding of landlord and operator challenges across office, mixed-use, or multifamily portfolios.
- Autonomy: Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes ownership of outcomes — capable of independently managing outreach, meetings, and pipeline.
- Collaboration: Team-oriented, coachable, and motivated to elevate both individual and team performance.
- Communication: Polished and confident communicator with the ability to build trust, tell compelling stories, and align value to strategic objectives.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and sales engagement platforms.
