We’re hiring an eLearning Designer for our Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. As the eLearning Designer you will apply eLearning design and development principles, learning science, and user experience best practices in collaboration with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and learners to develop interactive multimedia and eLearning courses, modules, videos, and training content for the EquipmentShare University Learning Management System (LMS).
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform job duties in accordance with EquipmentShare’s vision, mission, and values.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with internal departments and rental markets across the organization.
- Manage time effectively to ensure training, assignments, and special projects are completed within established time standards.
- Establish and maintain advanced-level knowledge of EquipmentShare products, service offerings, operational procedures, and core operating systems to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy with training and educational materials.
- Utilize video, audio, and graphic creation tools to develop interactive and video-based eLearning content with rapid authoring tools.
- Program branching scenarios, interactions, and gamified eLearning courses.
- Edit photos, vectors, and videos as needed.
- Adhere to visual design principles, multimedia learning principles, and user experience design best practices.
- Ensure all project files are saved, maintained, and backed up properly.
- Work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts at all levels and in all business units across EquipmentShare on the development of eLearning content, learning plans, curricula, on-demand learning, and other learning and development resources.
- Assess and update eLearning and digital training materials provided by other key contributors to ensure effectiveness, branding, format, quality, and accuracy.
- Build eLearning assessments in the form of quizzes, surveys, checklists, or other formats as needed.
- Work with company trainers to develop eLearning and on-demand resources in the Learning Management System.
- Work with outside vendors to integrate training resources.
- Conduct needs assessments and leverage project scope documentation to determine the content format, design, and learner experience to best serve the audience, topic, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with leaders, branch management, engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products and processes to ensure content accuracy.
- Stay informed about trends in eLearning, mobile learning, microlearning, instructional design, training and development, and learning technologies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adept with a variety of digital training platforms and methods.
- Strong knowledge of eLearning authoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of LMS platforms and eLearning development programs.
- Knowledge of ADDIE and adult learning theory.
- Ability to interview and collaborate with diverse subject matter experts and stakeholders to design effective, engaging training solutions.
- Strong analysis, writing, communication, presentation, and design skills.
- Ability to research and evaluate training options and alternatives.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development materials and programs.
- Ability to multitask and maneuver through various programs and applications while providing timely and superior service to customers.
- Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to identify issues, inconsistencies, and trends in addition to effective problem resolution.
- Working knowledge of Mac OS and Google Suite, including Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive.
- Ability to acquire new skills in a proficient manner.
- Ability to use diplomacy and tact when handling problems.
- Ability to work quickly and think logically, especially under pressure.
- Attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify process breakdowns.
- Flexibility and adaptation to change with a positive attitude.

- Possess a professional yet enthusiastic and friendly demeanor.
- Photography and videography skills, preferred.
- Experience with instructional video design, including writing scripts, role plays, and simulations, preferred
- Familiarity with Articulate Storyline and/or other content authoring tools such as Captivate and Camtasia, preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Training & Development, Multimedia Production, Education, Technical Communication, Technical Writing, Journalism, or related field required OR at least 3 years of eLearning, Instructional Design, Training, or Curriculum Development.
- eLearning certifications highly desired.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to use computer
