Job Description:

bp is an integrated energy company whose purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow. But we can’t do it alone. We’re a team with multifaceted strengths of engineers, scientists, traders, and business professionals determined to find answers to problems that must be solved. We believe that the teams are strengthened by diversity.

Are you ready to play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly and safely? As the Project Security Team Leader, you will provide security leadership across capital projects, embedding security-by-design and managing risk throughout execution. You’ll integrate security into design, construction, logistics, and contractor operations, leading all aspects of risks across UCC early works, onshore, and offshore scopes.

This role supports bp’s strategy by embedding security early in project lifecycles to reduce delivery risk, prevent incidents, and protect people, assets, and schedules, ensuring safe, compliant, and resilient project delivery aligned with bp security standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Embed security-by-design into project development and execution, proactively identifying and controlling security risks across design, construction, logistics, and contractor operations.

  • Reduce security risk exposure across capital projects by identifying and mitigating threats impacting schedule, cost, safety, and asset integrity in onshore and offshore scopes.

  • Provide clear security assurance across all project phases, ensuring risks in UCC early works, onshore, and offshore projects are understood, led, and aligned with approved execution plans.

  • Enforce contractor security compliance across project sites, driving alignment with bp security standards and ensuring consistent security performance.

  • Strengthen project security incident readiness and response by managing events effectively, minimising impact, and embedding lessons learned to improve resilience.

  • Deliver timely security insights and reporting to project leadership, enabling informed decision-making through clear visibility of risks, controls, and emerging issues across the project lifecycle.

What you’ll bring:

  • Validated years of experience in security, risk management, or related functions, preferably within capital projects, construction, engineering, or large‑scale industrial / energy environments.

  • Demonstrated experience providing security leadership for projects, including managing security risks across project lifecycles (design, construction, and execution phases).

  • Proven experience conducting project security risk assessments and delivering effective risk controls for construction activities, logistics, and contractor operations.

  • Strong experience working with project leadership teams and contractors, ensuring security requirements and compliance expectations are clearly understood and applied across project scopes.

  • Experience managing security risks for complex, multi‑contractor projects, including onshore and offshore project activities.

  • Demonstrated capability in security incident preparedness and management within a project environment, including impact mitigation and reporting.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area (e.g. security management, risk management, engineering, operations, or related field), considered crucial to effectively engage with project, engineering, and contractor teams.

  • Strong reporting and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear security assurance, risk insights, and project security updates to senior leadership.

  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, required for effective coordination with project teams, contractors, and internal interested parties.
