PC&C Operations & Advisory is an internal global shared services organisation, responsible for delivering centralised and standardised people services for BP from several geographical delivery centres as appropriate for BP’s footprint. PC&C O&A are the first point of contact for people related matters; the team are policy and process experts, dedicated to delivering the best employee experience.

As a Data & Analytics Lead you will manage the delivery of operational and project activities, acting as an activity manager to the reporting and organizational data team. You will be responsible for all activities in the area in support of delivering insightful reporting, data output and daily operations.

Key Accountabilities:

Technical Expertise & Execution

  • Manage a team of SMEs, Sr, Specialists and Specialist supporting Organization data management (ODS) and Reporting Operations team.

  • Support bp's organizational structure in Workday (supervisory orgs, positions, cost centers creation, enterprise creation, mass uploads etc.).

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex reports and dashboards using BI tools.

  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data and performance reports through meticulous validation and quality checks.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of data to identify trends, variances, and patterns, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for management.

  • Ensure that employee and organization data integrity is maintained in Workday when performing high-impact transactions i.e., supervisory organization unit changes, multiple reporting line changes, job and work schedule changes, compensation, etc.

  • Investigate, liaise and resolve complex issues involving multiple systems and stakeholders, applying judgment.

  • Be an ambassador for change encouraging agile ways of working & improvements to day-to-day activities.

Process Ownership & Improvement

  • Act as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for specific data domains, reporting systems, and operational processes.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and bottlenecks and lead initiatives for automation and continuous improvement in reporting processes.

  • Define and document standardized reporting procedures, policies, and business rules (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance.

Stakeholder & Project Management

  • Collaborate with various groups to understand reporting requirements, ensuring solutions align with business objectives.

  • Lead small to medium-sized projects, managing timelines and deliverables to meet stakeholder needs and deadlines.

  • Serve as the liaison between the reporting team and IT for system upgrades, migrations, or data sourcing projects.

Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer

  • Oversee the case queue and offer guidance on complex cases to maintain a consistent workflow and ensure timely resolution of all cases.

  • Mentor and guide junior analysts and other team members in standards for data analysis, tool usage, and problem-solving.

  • Develop and deliver training materials and documentation to build the team's overall capability.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure that all reporting activities adhere to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR).

  • Participate in internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

  • University degree or professional qualification.

  • Significant experience in reporting and data analysis, ideally in People, Compensation & Change (PC&C).

  • Strong knowledge of workforce data, including collection, interpretation, and application, with attention to accuracy and privacy.

  • Proficiency in Workday reporting, Discover Boards, metric reporting, and analytics requests.

  • Ability to analyze system-generated data and combine multiple sources to deliver actionable insights.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Power Platform to create interactive dashboards and reports.

  • Strong numeracy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate insights clearly.

  • Awareness of market trends, best practices, and benchmarking.

  • High levels of self-awareness, judgment, integrity, and cultural sensitivity.

Desirable Criteria:

  • PC&C data administration and reporting experience.

  • Workday core, reporting and analytics experience.

  • Microsoft Power Bi dashboard and data transformation development.

  • Experience using Salesforce CRM system or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of PC&C processes in Workforce, Payroll, Talent, Learning and Resourcing.

  • Proficient in using Office 365 tools for productivity and automation particularly Excel for data analysis.

  • A continuous improvement approach; seeking simple, ‘best fit’ solutions to challenges.
