As our HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in strengthening safety culture and supporting HSSE excellence at the Fremantle Lubricants Plant. You’ll work closely with the Plant Engineering & HSE Manager and the Regional HSSE Manager (ASPAC) to embed bp’s HSSE systems, support our people, and build confidence in safe, reliable operations.
What you’ll do
Lead HSSE support on site
- Provide HSSE advice, analyse and report on HSE performance and trends.
- Partner with plant leadership to embed bp Lubricants HSSE practices and support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with bp HSSE teams across ASPAC region to stay aligned with global standards.
- Assist in external certification audits, delivering the process to maintain ISO accreditation.
Strengthen risk, incident and compliance processes
- Support and review risk assessments and help the team implement effective controls.
- Lead incident investigations and communicate findings using bp reporting systems.
- Support risk identification and keep the plant risk register current and accurate.
- Implement Control of Work programs and the C&CM program, including updates to the Site Emergency Response Plan.
- Stay informed of legislative changes and implement updates to procedures and plans as required.
Build capability through training and communication
- Develop and deliver HSE training and awareness programs.
- Lead HSSE communications such as toolbox talks, pre-starts, shared findings to promote strong safety culture.
- Mentor line managers to build their confidence and capability to meet HSSE responsibilities.
Champion contractor and third‑party HSSE
- Support compliance with bp’s Accredited Contractor Program (ACP).
- Maintain accurate contractor information and engage with Contractor Accountable Managers (CAMs).
- Provide HSSE mentorship during workplace changes, including engineering, construction and third‑party activities.
Support emergency preparedness and wellbeing
- Help implement and communicate the Oil Spill Response Plan and Emergency Response Plan.
- Work closely with bp’s Injury Management teams to support return‑to‑work processes.
