Role synopsis:
A Restaurant System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and operation of systems at bp. A Restaurant System Administrator works closely with their peers to support systems, resolve problems, and research ways to improve bp’s systems by presenting and providing preventative solutions through process and automation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates procedures to maintain and configure systems
Leads POS project research and development regularly, using project management methodologies
Analyzes monitored data and designs processes/automation to enhance system performance and stability
Proactively identifies ways to enhance system performance and stability with minimal instruction
Creates system deployment plans and processes for hardware and software as advised
Participate in research and development of projects as advised
Can work independently to design processes to enhance system performance and stability
Can work independently to design system deployment plans and processes
Function as liaison between business partners and the Technology Team
Understands, follows, designs, develop and carry out system policies and security controls while working with bp security team
Coordinates and leads meetings with internal and external customers to resolve issues
Builds documentation, presentations, estimates, and other project details for upper management review
Review and submit expenses and timecards accurately with accepted company practices and procedures
Complete security and other training requirements per company practices and policies at bp
Work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities depending on business needs.
Actively seeks to mentor new employees and provide training and service as advised by Supervisor
Review, revise and advise on requirements, specifications, and technical design documents and vendor contracts
Availability to Support (24x7) environment
Responsible for maintaining administrative, technical, and physical security controls on all systems that are owned or maintained by this role.
Responsible for preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data that is stored, processed, or transmitted on systems that are owned or maintained by this role.
Responsible for following all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines of the company, including those related to data security
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related discipline
System Administrator, or equivalent, role - 5+ years
Phone based service experience - 3+ years
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio skills are required - 3+ years
Experience with standard template documentation - 3+ years
Experience supporting remote systems - 3+ years
Must participate in monthly on-call after-hours support
This role will be required to work in shifts

Appendix - Aloha POS System Administrator
Experience with intermediate level support troubleshooting - 3+ years
Experience with Restaurant POS systems, including Aloha hardware, software, peripherals - 3+ years.
Working with Full Service and Quick Service restaurants - 3+ years
Experience with remote PC support (ie. Bomgar, Remote Desktop, CMC, ….) - 3+ years
Experience with production and project issue tracking (ie. Service Now, Jira, ….)
Review networking, hardware and software requirements from Vendors and provide technical recommendations and guidance on implementations with supervised guidance.
Responsible for understanding and participating in network design, documentation, and delivery of Restaurant POS projects.
Responsible for reviewing, supporting and providing recommendations for new implementations (acquisitions, new franchise, and construction projects)
Experience with NCR Payment Gateway (Connected Payments) product
Experience with PCI Compliance and Security for Credit Card environments
Experience with software distribution / scripting / standard processes (ie. BigFix, PowerShell, .NET...)
To proactively identify ways to minimize financial and product loss by ensuring proper functionality of POS by responding to defects reported by the sites.
Works with all bp groups to define process and procedures with security and other software tools necessary to support sites
Formal education/experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related discipline
