[FBT defines, owns, sources and operates efficient and standardised business services for the bp.
We are business process professionals, working as a unified organisation across finance, customer service, procurement, P&C and other functional areas to fully support bp in its global operations and aims. Our license to operate is dependent on us being able to deliver silent running in the most efficient manner.
As the FBT organisation continues to grow and accommodates more, it has the opportunity to deliver additional value in five core areas:
Risk and control: Enhancing bp's business and system controls through improved governance and implementation of global process designs, systems templates and control frameworks.
Process effectiveness: Increasing cash and working capital delivery; improved process effectiveness and reliability through delivering an accurate outcome first time.
Process efficiency: Driving commonality of global processes and building these into standard templates to be incorporated into our ERP systems implementations and our continuous improvement activities across operational processes.
Quality service: Delivering enhanced customer services to the businesses we support and bp’s customers, through our well-trained, professional people.
Capability: Developing future leaders for the organisation through talent management bp and career mapping and developing deep expertise in the domain of process.
In this role You will:
- Ensure timely and accurate supply & inventory accounting processes to deliver silent run and acceptable service level to the Business partners
- Support timely mid-month, monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes in accordance with the Group Reporting Manual and any other relevant standards
- Deliver Finance Operation and Cost Accounting support to the Business partners assigned to the role
- Provide support for Balance Sheet Assurance, CET controls, Payment, Inventory & CSO reports
- Keep the documents up to date to ensure silent run for the daily operation and for audits (internal and external) as well
- Work on complex and difficult S&IA related processes together with the S&IA Senior Team Leader that require deep end-to-end process understanding
- Provide support to the S&IA Supply Accounting Managers and guidance to the team members whenever it is required
- Provide effective support to system transformations in all phases of the project
- Provide effective support to every kind of process improvements and projects by delivering new ideas and helping the implementation
- Have relevant accounting and IT knowledge
- Work closely with several S&IA teams that require willingness for supporting each other by knowledge sharing
- Provide back up support to other S&IA Team Leaders during their absence
- Provide support to build a good partnership up with the Business partners
What You will need to be successful:
- Adhering with the tasks outlined in the QMS Systems of FBT Europe
- Carry out the period end close processes in a timely and accurate manner requiring extensive experience to ensure the correct reporting and accounting treatment
- Manage issue resolution and query handling reference to Group Reporting Manuals and / or working closely with the Business / Country teams supported
- Work together with the Senior S&IA Team Leaders /Managers and Business / Country teams to understand the priorities and work to deliver against these as required
- Look for opportunities to drive process improvements and work with the relevant people to put them in place
- Maintain the relationship with every teams in FBT to ensure the smooth operation
- Support the internal and external audits effectively
- Raise the attention of S&IA Leadership Team to the possible risks in the S&IA related processes
- Provide guidance and support to other team members
- Align with any other job-related requirements defined by S&IA Senior TL, Supply Accounting Manager, Process Lead or by Business contact
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), owning complex topics and providing authoritative guidance to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial outcomes.
- Demonstrate deep end-to-end process ownership across Supply & Inventory Accounting, with the ability to navigate and integrate closely related processes including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Inventory.
- Apply a cross-process, enterprise-wide attitude to proactively assess upstream and downstream impacts, dependencies, and risks, ensuring seamless process integration and strong financial governance.
- Lead and actively drive process standardization initiatives across S&IA by leveraging a thorough and detailed understanding of all related finance processes, ensuring alignment with FBT global standards and operating models.
- Design, deliver, and embed automation solutions based on deep process expertise, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, well-controlled, and sustainable over the long term.
- Ensure that standardized, auditable, and effective control frameworks are established and consistently applied across all S&IA processes, supporting compliance, audit readiness, and risk mitigation.
- Partner closely with Finance Operations, AP/AR, Inventory, and Digital/Automation teams to translate business requirements into standardized and automated solutions.
- Continuously identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and improvement opportunities, converting insights into tangible standardization and automation deliverables.
- Act as a role model for process discipline and continuous improvement, supporting capability uplift and knowledge sharing within the S&IA community.
- Essential Education:
- Relevant degree and 5 years experience in related Finance area
- Good knowledge in Finance area (or willingness to learn the basics)
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge in automation/process standardization
- Strong level of analytical skills, numeracy and strong financial understanding
