Principal Delivery Manager - BP PLC

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex data-driven initiatives within BP PLC. This role requires strong commercial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and deep expertise across the data lifecycle to drive strategic outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of data-related projects and programs, ensuring alignment with BP's strategic objectives and commercial priorities.
* Develop and implement robust data strategy and governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security across various domains.
* Champion best practices in data management, including data sourcing, cleansing, transformation, and integration from diverse systems.
* Oversee the design and implementation of efficient Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to support data pipelines and analytics initiatives.
* Utilize advanced data analysis and visualization techniques to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
* Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex data concepts into clear, concise, and impactful presentations.
* Facilitate group problem-solving sessions, fostering collaboration and driving consensus among cross-functional teams to overcome technical and operational challenges.
* Ensure adherence to Digital Security protocols and best practices throughout the data lifecycle, protecting sensitive information and maintaining compliance.
* Manage stakeholder expectations, build strong relationships, and effectively escalate issues to ensure successful project delivery.
* Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the data delivery function.

Job Qualifications

* Proven experience as a Principal Delivery Manager or similar senior leadership role, with a strong track record of successfully delivering complex data projects.
* Exceptional Commercial Acumen, demonstrating an understanding of business drivers and the ability to align data initiatives with commercial objectives.
* Outstanding Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Expertise in Data Analysis, including the use of statistical methods and analytical tools to derive insights.
* Extensive experience in Data cleansing and transformation techniques to ensure data quality and readiness for analysis.
* Deep Data domain knowledge relevant to the energy sector, or a similar complex industry.
* Strong proficiency in Data Integration strategies and technologies.
* Comprehensive understanding of Data Management principles and best practices.
* Advanced skills in Data Manipulation, using various tools and languages.
* Proven experience with Data Sourcing from internal and external systems.
* Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing Data strategy and governance frameworks.
* Proficiency in Data visualization and interpretation, utilizing tools to present insights effectively.
* Solid understanding of Digital Security principles and practices in a data context.
* Hands-on experience with Extract, transform and load (ETL) processes and tools.
* Demonstrated ability in Group Problem Solving and leading collaborative efforts to resolve complex issues.


Travel Requirement

Up to 10% travel should be expected with this role
