About us
The Global Planning Effectiveness Manager is a role that sits with the Castrol Planning Center of Excellence and is a critical role responsible for evaluating, improving, and sustaining the health of planning capabilities across the organization's global operations. This individual serves as the internal authority on planning maturity — assessing current-state performance, ensuring the sufficiency of the various roadmaps to best-in-class planning, and driving the adoption of planning tools, systems, and governance frameworks that enable consistent, high-quality execution!
This role requires a blend of analytical rigor, cross-functional influence, and a deep understanding of supply chain planning principles. The Manager will work closely with regional planning leaders, systems teams, and senior customers to build a culture of planning excellence underpinned by measurable standards and continuous improvement
Key Accountabilities
Planning Health Assessment
Design and implement a comprehensive global planning health assessment framework, evaluating organizational capability, process efficiency, and system utilization across all regions and business units.
Develop and maintain a standardized assessment methodology that produces consistent, comparable results across diverse operating environments.
Synthesize assessment findings into actionable insights and executive-level reporting, clearly presenting current-state performance against defined benchmarks.
Partner with regional planning leads to interpret results, identify root causes of performance gaps, and co-develop targeted improvement plans.
Planning Maturity Roadmap
Establish a clear, stepwise planning maturity model that defines capability levels and the specific actions, breakthroughs, and investments required to progress between them.
Define and track key performance metrics and planning skill score frameworks that serve as the primary indicators of organizational maturity and efficiency.
Translate the maturity roadmap into actionable, phased plans with defined timelines, resource requirements, and accountability structures.
Partner with business resources to supervise progress against maturity targets on an ongoing basis, adjusting plans as needed based on evolving business priorities and performance data.
Planning Tool & System Adoption
Own and drive the global master plan for planning tool and system adoption, ensuring alignment between technology capabilities and planning process requirements.
Establish governance structures and standards that ensure consistent system utilization, data integrity, and process compliance across all planning functions.
Collaborate with IT, systems owners, and business customers to prioritize enhancements, resolve adoption barriers, and close gaps between system capability and end-user needs.
Develop and maintain adoption tracking mechanisms that provide access to utilization trends and support data-driven decision-making.
Customer Engagement & Communication
Build strong partnerships across regional and functional planning teams, fostering buy-in and ownership of effectiveness initiatives at the local level.
Prepare and present regular updates to senior leadership on planning health, maturity progress, and adoption metrics.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and planning excellence across the organization.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
10-15+ years of dynamic experience in supply chain planning, with proven expertise in process improvement, capability development, or planning systems.
Shown experience designing and implementing assessments, audits, or maturity frameworks within a planning or supply chain context.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations.
Shown ability to influence and inspire change across a global, matrixed organization without direct authority.
Strong executive communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred :
