Job Description:

This role helps to ensure that all company vehicles and drivers are in compliance with state and government regulations and company policy requirements. We develop, interpret, and/or inform others about company policies and procedures that allow for the safe and compliant use of vehicles. You will work very closely with Operations, Truck Service, and Hospitality teams to help them understand and manage the risks associated with driving on company business for US Fleet.


The Vehicle Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all company vehicles and transport activities, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting compliance with BP's Operational Management System (OMS) and relevant safety regulations.

Shift timings: 3:00 PM to 12 AM (IST)

What you will deliver (responsibilities)

DOT Regulatory Compliance

  • Help ensure that the company’s DOT regulated vehicles and the people that drive and manage them are compliant with the regulations set forth by the US Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

Driver/Vehicle Database Management

  • Manage the vehicle/driver database and ensure that it is being used to its fullest to help improve vehicle and driver compliance.

  • Manage training and resources related to the vehicle database.

Driver/Vehicle Compliance

  • Manage the qualification process for all Company drivers.

  • Manage the communication of any changes in vehicle location and ownership made in the vehicle database to those impacted, such as the tax department, asset accounting, area and department managers, and 3rd party vendors who assist with title/plate transfers and registration renewals.

  • Manage truck service and DOT regulated vehicle titles and registration renewal/transfers as well as ensure that toll and traffic camera violations are redirected to those that operate the vehicle.

  • Create and distribute reports related to vehicle compliance.

  • Manage fleet insurance cards.

  • Support the Company’s dash cam program as needed.

  • Support Operations by researching local legislation and providing guidance on how to stay compliant.

  • Ensure all sensitive information is kept secured, maintained in a confidential manner, and shared only with those who have a legitimate business need.

What you will need to be successful (experience, job requirements & qualifications)

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel with ability to prepare, update, and maintain structured documents and trackers is a must.

  • Experience in driver/vehicle compliance programs and/or fleet safety a plus.

  • Ability to set up workflow rules and operational processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across tasks.

  • Comfortable with proactive follow‑ups and coordination with field teams to gather required inputs and close pending actions.

  • Strong data entry skills, ensuring high accuracy, attention to detail, and timely updating of systems/trackers.

You will be part of a team of safety professionals managing the vehicle fleet used by US Fleet. You will report to the Vehicle Safety Supervisor and be part of the HSSE team, who are responsible, in conjunction with our internal partners, for creating and maintaining a safe working environment at US Fleet. You will work very closely with the Operations, Truck Service and Hospitality teams to help them understand and manage the risks associated with driving on company business for US Fleet.
