Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Staff Project Manager to lead complex data-focused projects within BP PLC. This role requires a solid grasp of data lifecycle management, good communication skills, and the ability to drive strategic data initiatives from inception to delivery, ensuring robust data quality and security.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end data projects, including defining scope, objectives, and results, and supervising project timelines and budgets.
- Develop and implement data strategies and governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across various systems.
- Be responsible for data sourcing, cleansing, transformation, and integration activities, ensuring data quality and readiness for analysis and reporting.
- Use advanced data manipulation techniques to prepare and optimize data for various business applications and analytical tools.
- Collaborate with collaborators to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions, using strong commercial acuity.
- Design and implement Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to efficiently move and process large datasets.
- Develop compelling data visualizations and interpret sophisticated data to deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Ensure all data projects adhere to strict digital security protocols and company standards.
- Facilitate and supply to group problem-solving sessions, fostering a collaborative environment to overcome project challenges.
- Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies effectively to all levels of the organization, tailoring communication to different audiences.
Job Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in project management, specifically within data-centric initiatives.
- Strong commercial competence with the ability to understand business drivers and translate them into data solutions.
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging diverse customers.
- Proficiency in data analysis, data cleansing and transformation, and data manipulation techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of data domain concepts, including data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Demonstrable experience in data integration and developing robust ETL processes.
- Good understanding and practical experience with data management principles, including data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Ability to strategically approach data sourcing and optimize data acquisition processes.
- Expertise in data visualization and interpretation, with the ability to tell a compelling story through data.
- Solid grasp of digital security procedures as they relate to data projects.
- Demonstrable ability to facilitate and contribute to effective group problem-solving.
