Customers & Products as a business is dedicated to growing our customer business by delivering excellent products and services. To achieve this aim the business will need excellent business partners working efficiently in new and innovative ways across the entity both in support of growing/sustaining the core businesses and in delivering new business models for the future. The Customers & Products finance team has restructured quite substantively and is supporting business ambitions in the following ways:
Deploying financial capability aligned with business demand and structure. The C&P Finance T3 invent has a single point of accountability on entity leadership teams to ensure effective partnering and appropriate controls and compliance across the C&P businesses as well as securing clear alignment related to business aims and ambitions.
Centralising the finance teams in assistance of Customers and Products enables the function to restructure, standardize and remove redundancy and drive value through digital initiatives.
The Poland ARC Finance Analyst is responsible for integrating the full suite of Finance accountabilities and ensuring these are handled and delivered effectively for a part of the business/ function in Poland. In particular, the Poland ARC Finance Analyst is the local subject matter expert and point of contact for reviewing and implementing local statutory and group accounting policy and responsible for ensuring all accounting, reporting, control, are performed accurately, timely and efficiently in Poland.
The Poland Finance analyst will safeguard the company and ensure accuracy and compliance with local tax requirements particularly associated with corporate income tax, withholding tax, sales tax, civil tax, property, agricultural and other local taxes.
The Poland ARC Finance Analyst maintains close collaboration with business partners, acting as ‘co-pilot’ and providing professional Finance support.
The Poland ARC Finance Analyst simultaneously leads many processes and issues, showing resilience and strong skills in prioritizing efforts.
Throughout the accountabilities of the role, the Poland ARC Finance Analyst leads the identification of continuous efficiency improvements in Finance processes and drives continuous improvement of business performance.
The person in this roll will be accountable for the local delivery of period end close for statutory and group accounts, leads and co-ordinates local audit as well as local taxation accounting support for the relevant legal entities within Poland with proper coordination and establishing successful relationships with GBSE and external authorities.
This is a12 month fixed-term contract.
In this role you will be:
Accountable for ARC activities in country, included but not limited to handling and performing local PEC activity ensuring silent running and accuracy and completeness of local accounitng and reporting systems
Subject mater expert and primary interface in country for local financial reporting matters, advising, reviewing and implementing local and group accounting policy application in country
Local statutory audit co-ordination and primary work with GBS and auditors, ensuring proper ownership and accountability of activities are in place, driving timely delivery of priorities and effective query resolution
Responsible for regulatory and local external reporting requirements. Lead on statutory, audit, indirect and local tax accounting and query resolution
Leading the company direct and local tax policies and ensure a robust control and supervising environment and effective risk mitigation
key business interface and critical issue point, fostering effective internal and external relationships
Support, co-ordinate and participate in internal and external tax audits and inspections
On request to provide input to tax advocacy activities
Owning direct tax related procedures and processes and performing ongoing review of changes in national and international tax and accounting requirements to verify the relevance to Polish business and make appropriate interventions and implementations
Engaging and supporting in tax return preparation, validation and submission
Maintaining the tax system
Supporting, advising and participating, when needed, in:
-continuous improvement and standardization and simplification of process
-business and projects in the design of accounting-related and tax issues
-direct and indirect tax projects.Safeguarding the company and supporting operational performance by ensuring tax compliance and reporting
Supporting local adhoc project with particular focus on accounting, financial reporting, direct and local tax matters
What You will need to be successful:
A Master Degree Tax Law or in Economics, Finance or Accounting (e.g. CIMA) is desireable
Alternatively an MBA in Finance and Tax or a comparable education
Evidenced courses and certification in tax regulatory framework
Good command of written & spoken English and Polish; other European languages are an advantage
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills to enable effective partnership
Strong affiliation with legislatory framework and on top of regulatory developments.
Good understanding of retail fiscal processes and how they reflected in stat and vat tax books
Practical experience in handing external financial, tax or other statutory inspections and controls
Exposure to interaction with representatives from public authorities
Agile training and a working understanding of Agile techniques including Scrum and Kanban
Self-starter with an ability to prioritise and work independently with limited guidance
Strong numerical and analytic skills, business sense and understanding of business drivers.
Local tax and fiscal regulation knowledge will be an advantage
Fuels Value Chain or related business experiences are preferred
Knowledge in SAP (PRE, PRK,FI, CO, BW, BCS and FBW), Excel
Knowledge of financial accounting according to IFRS and local GAP
Knowledge of Group reporting systems and standards
Validated experience in tax and accounting with an international orientation
Demonstrated proficeincy in Statutory and Group Reporting across finances, e.g. Controlling, Tax, Bus, Indirect tax
Confirmed experience in external collaborating with focus on tax preferred
Demonstrated experience in working with internal and external audits
