Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team at BP Business Solutions India Private Limited. This role will be instrumental in demonstrating data to drive strategic business decisions, optimize operations, and identify new opportunities within BP. You will be responsible for applying advanced analytical techniques, handling complex datasets, and communicating insights effectively to customers.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end data analysis lifecycle, from data sourcing and cleansing to model development, interpretation, and visualization.
Apply strong Commercial Competence to understand business challenges and translate them into data science problems, seeing opportunities for value creation.
Develop and implement robust Data strategy and governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security (including Digital Security considerations), and compliance.
Perform comprehensive Data Analysis on large and sophisticated datasets, using various statistical and machine learning techniques.
Implement Data cleansing and transformation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and suitability for analytical models.
Demonstrate deep Data domain knowledge to interpret results within the business context and provide actionable recommendations.
Handle Data Integration and Extract, transform and load (ETL) processes from disparate sources, ensuring data availability and reliability.
Perform sophisticated Data Manipulation using relevant programming languages and tools to prepare data for analysis and modeling.
Proactively identify and implement effective Data Sourcing strategies to acquire necessary information for analytical projects.
Design and create compelling Data visualization and interpretation to communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Collaborate effectively in Group Problem Solving sessions with multi-functional teams to solve sophisticated business challenges and drive innovative solutions.
Exhibit superb communication skills, both written and verbal, to present insights, influence customers and develop data-driven decision-making.
Oversee Data Management practices, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and alignment to company policies.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related subject area.
Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a consa proven track recordlivering impactful data-driven solutions.
Proven expertise in Commercial Competence, translating business needs into analytical solutions.
Outstanding Interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical customers.
Proficiency in Data Analysis techniques, including statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics.
Hands-on experience with Data cleansing and transformation tools and methodologies.
Solid understanding of Data domain knowledge relevant to the energy sector or similar sophisticated industries.
Experience with Data Integration and Extract, transform and load (ETL) processes and tools.
Sophisticated skills in Data Management and Data Manipulation using programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and SQL.
Experience in Data Sourcing strategies and working with various data platforms.
Knowledge of Data strategy and governance principles and their practical application.
Expertise in Data visualization and interpretation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Python libraries).
Understanding of Digital Security standard processes in a data science context.
Shown ability to give efficiently in Group Problem Solving environments.
