Let me tell you about the role.

The Process Engineer is accountable for supporting unit performance and availability for gas processing facility. They do this by acting as a primary collaborate with Operations to support routine, day-to-day asset operations activities such as troubleshooting, providing technical recommendations for operating procedures, and supporting basic process control issues. Process Engineers regularly monitor the health of the plant to make sure they are operating within normal limits. They deliver operational technical support for process improvements, modifications, turnaround activities, performance tests, technical knowledge management, and troubleshooting exercises.

This, this role may include working shift/evening/weekend schedules on occasion.

Additionally, the Process Engineer will have a key role in various special assignments such as trials, small project oversight, and unit modeling.

What you will deliver

  • Delivering engineering support, working closely with the Site Engineer and other engineering subject areas to resolve issues in support of the Site Team

  • Providing process engineering recommendations to MoCs, projects and modifications, barrier health assessments, risk assessments such as HAZOP/LOPA and maintenance/inspection deferrals and help manage registers (e.g. LO/LC, safe operating limits).

  • Support reliability, excursion and safety investigation activities and action item closure.

  • Providing process engineering expertise by performing and reviewing process engineering calculations and analysis

  • Supporting risk management integration and coordination of barrier health

  • Identifying facility improvement options to deliver safe, reliable and environmentally friendly operations.

  • Support the update of operating procedures and documents (e.g. P&IDs) through review and redlines

  • Support monitoring of process equipment to make sure operations are within normal limits

  • Conducting self-verification of management systems and barrier health Grow Capability:

  • Deliver personal capability – accountable for growing expertly, mentoring those less experienced, and exploring opportunities that establish the basis for long term career planning

  • Deliver technical learning – accountable for ensuring technical knowledge is brought together, maintained, easily retrievable, and shared appropriately

  • Network with site technical representatives, commercial, projects organizations, technology networks, and other BP sites sharing and bringing applied information on short-term tactical and strategic initiatives, programs, and projects

  • Onboarding new engineers of varying skill levels, including unit training for qualifications.

What you will need to be successful

Must have educational qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Chemical engineering or related degree/subject area

Minimum years of proven experience:

  • 8+ years in oil and gas/petrochemical/refining/chemical or equivalent

Total years of experience:

  • 9 -14 Years minimum

Must have experience/skills (To be hired with):

  • A minimum of 8 years of oil and gas experience in technical, engineering, operations

  • Process engineering experience in Gas processing systems (e.g. Dehydration, Compression, Hydrate Inhibition)

  • Proficient in English written and oral

  • Significant experience in either an internal or external engineering role, or similar

  • Experience supporting an operating site

  • Extensive technical understanding of process engineering principles, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations and the ability to apply these in a practical operational context to provide guidance on the safe execution of site operating procedures

  • Good to have experiences/skills (Can be trained for – learning/on-the-job):

  • Working knowledge of offshore oil and gas operations and/or LNG terminal operations

  • Knowledge of safety systems (SIS-Safety Instrumented Systems, PSV-Process Safety Valves, etc.)

  • Experience building and maintaining process models and health monitoring applications

  • Solid understanding of process equipment

  • Experience of remotely engineering support

  • Risk management knowledge

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-discipline team.

You will work with the regional Engineering Team supporting offshore operations.

Shift support :11:30 to 20:30 IST
