Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IOT / Azure Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust and secure IOT solutions for the bp fleet of ships. This role will be essential in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our IOT infrastructure, from data ingestion to advanced analytics and visualization.
Job Responsibilities
* Design, deploy, and run scalable and secure IOT infrastructure within the Azure cloud environment, including IOT Hub, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, and other relevant services.
* Develop and implement strategies for effective data sourcing, ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and storage from various IOT devices and platforms.
* Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization within IOT data streams.
* Implement and maintain robust data integration pipelines using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data quality and availability for downstream applications.
* Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enable effective data visualization and interpretation of IOT insights.
* Ensure the security and integrity of IOT data and infrastructure, adhering to procedures in digital security and data governance.
* Participate in group problem-solving initiatives to address complex technical challenges and optimize IOT solutions.
* Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development and evolution of the company's data strategy and governance framework for IOT.
* Apply commercial competence to understand business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Job Qualifications
* Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing IOT solutions on Microsoft Azure.
* Strong understanding of Azure IOT services (IOT Hub, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, etc.).
* Experience in the maritime industry
* Solid experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and tools.
* Demonstrated ability in data analysis and experience with data visualization and interpretation tools.
* Strong knowledge of data domain concepts relevant to IOT and industrial applications.
* Understanding of data integration methodologies and best practices.
* Familiarity with data management principles and data sourcing strategies.
* Knowledge of data strategy and governance frameworks.
* Proficiency in digital security best practices for cloud and IOT environments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to group problem-solving.
