We are seeking a proactive and skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team, focusing on European procurement activities. This role is crucial for optimizing our supply chain, ensuring value creation, and driving sustainable procurement practices across the region.

In this role, you will need to have strong analytical skills and maintain a detailed understanding of supplier onboarding requirements and risks. You will be responsible for managing supplier pricing in bp systems and ensuring on-time payment to suppliers across multiple categories. You will own data compilation and modeling to support the category leads in strategy development, negotiations, performance management, and operational activities. You will oversee the collation and analysis of supplier data and use this to identify and manage risks and opportunities for business advantage.

This role is a part of our European Procurement Hub team of circa 9 people, supporting the European Business. It will provide exposure to multiple direct procurement categories, various procurement systems, and support value delivery for the entire European business. The role offers an international outlook whilst being based in Budapest. This role is designed as a development pathway into supplier‑facing Procurement Specialist roles.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage new supplier onboarding, due diligence process, and supplier performance management reports.

  • Input and maintain procurement category pricing/data in key systems while ensuring accuracy.

  • Liaise with suppliers, Accounts Payable, sites, and Category Managers to ensure on-time payment to relevant suppliers.

  • Lead front-end set-up and implementation of strategic new products/materials.

  • Support procurement data compilation, cost modeling, negotiations, and operational activities as needed.

  • Input and maintain details/values of strategic cost competitiveness projects across the categories in SalesForce.

  • Ensure full compliance with all categories, regulatory and company’s corporate social, environmental and financial risk and HSE.

  • Support supplier management, including ongoing contract management and control, collation of performance data (through overseeing supplier performance data collection and analysis), and plan and complete supplier meetings.

  • Lead European Hub Compliance projects as needed.


Essential Criteria & Job Requirements:

  • Degree Qualified: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) is required.

  • Supply Chain/Procurement Expertise: Proven experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, and/or Business Management.

  • Demonstrated analytical and modeling skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data modeling, and large‑dataset manipulation.

  • Influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a collaborative working style.

  • Motivated self-starter with attention to detail and excellent relationship building skills.

  • Fluency in English

Desirable Criteria:

  • Professional Certification in Procurement (e.g. CIPS) is desirable.

  • Master’s of Business Administration.

  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.

  • Previous experience within energy/oil & gas sector and CPG would be highly advantageous.
