Job Description:
Step into a pivotal, hands-on leadership role as our Shift Relief Supervisor, supporting terminal operations that keep WA’s energy flowing safely and reliably. At the bp Kwinana Energy Hub, you’ll be the go‑to leader providing operational coverage when it matters most, maintaining safe performance while guiding our teams on the ground.
In this multifaceted role, uphold HSSE standards, drive operational improvements, and step into key positions across the terminal, including acting as On‑Scene Commander during emergency response. If you bring strong operational expertise, permit-to-work experience, and a passion for safe, principled execution, this is your chance to define real impact every day!
What You Will Deliver
- Champion a proactive safety and learning standard, leading and coaching our operations teams across jetties, tank farm, utilities, and pipeline systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
- Provide operational and shift coverage as needed—maintaining strong field presence, modelling safe behaviours, protecting safety‑critical barriers, and directing frontline emergency response efforts as the on‑scene authority.
- Be responsible for safe execution of maintenance and field activities by partnering with the Control of Work team on SIMOPS, isolations, permit issuing, gas testing, & equipment return‑to‑service.
- Drive operational perfection through proactive tasks such as updating procedures, conducting self‑verifications, supporting Learning from Events, performing safety‑critical equipment checks, completing risk assessments, and raising maintenance work orders.
- Collaborate with Terminal Movements Specialists and the Customer Quality Support Advisor to manage product stock levels and quality, ensuring continuity of supply and high‑standard customer outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven track record to role‑model a strong safety culture, demonstrating leadership in both personnel and process safety, setting clear expectations, showing genuine care for others.
- Leadership experience in a processing plant or high‑risk operational environment, with solid knowledge of fixed plant operations and product movements (ideally in oil and gas).
- Practical experience in field and control room operations, supported by CoW knowledge; permits, isolations, gas testing, and safe maintenance activities.
- Meet role requirements such as annual firefighting skills training and medical assessments.
