Communications Advisor
The communications advisor – finance, legal and technology is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of communications in support of bp’s finance, legal and technology functions.
The role holder will report to the head of communications, finance and legal with a dotted into the head of communications for technology. They will work closely with the finance and legal comms team, and the technology comms team, to enable successful delivery of communications projects and plans in service of bp’s strategy and functional priorities.
In this role You will:
- Support the development and delivery of integrated communications plans in service of bp’s strategy and finance, legal and technology functions’ priorities and projects
- Develop creative internal communications content to advise and engage employees
- Manage and produce impactful content for all regular finance and legal internal communications channels (Microsoft 365 SharePoint and Engage, Dotdigital, Teams Live, etc.)
- Help plan and implement communications for leadership webcasts and town halls
- Provide strategic level communications advice, guidance and coaching for our most senior business leaders and key business collaborators
- Continuously improve the efficiency and impact of finance, legal, and technology communications by monitoring and analyzing the efficiency communications and using measurement and insights to continuously improve outcomes
- Be the team focal point for implementing new digital and technology solutions to improve ways of working and increase efficiency, including collaboration with the Accenture communications and marketing hub
- Maintain crisis preparedness in case crisis communication is needed
- Being part of a small business partnering team, foster an agile working approach to maximise value delivery and promote use of digital tools to increase effectiveness
What You will need to be successful:
- High level of proficiency in English language
- Extensive experience in a communications or marketing role within a large matrixed organization, or within a marketing / communications agency
- Qualification in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field is desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to construct informative, exciting and inspiring content that emotionally connects with the audience
- Strong organisation and project management skills – a self-starter who is able to work independently to manage multiple priorities, deliver quality work to tight deadlines and successfully navigate ambiguity
- Good attention to detail is required
- Expertise in digital communication tools using workflows, resources and platforms to effectively plan, collaborate, analyze and deliver results
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Viva Engage, Teams Live, Dotdigital and analytics platforms is highly desirable
- Experience in using AI-powered tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to enhance content creation, analysis, measurement, and workflow efficiency is also highly desirable
- Ability to establish and manage effective relationships remotely – with leaders at all levels of the organisation and within the Accenture marketing and communications hub – and using influencing skills and personal impact to deliver results
- A refined sense of design and flair for creation of engaging and innovative communications
- Experience in graphic design, video and photo editing is a plus
- Awareness and consideration of how the role and activities impact both day to day and strategic business initiatives – ensuring that work is always founded in creating business value and has clear objectives and measurable, desired outcomes
