About the role
At bpTT, there’s no better way to begin your career than via our internship program. As a respected and valued part of our company, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of our highly qualified and experienced professionals.
You will be involved in some of our current projects and operations, and deliver tangible results using the latest technology, whilst learning about the oil and gas industry and the challenges we face every day.
This program will also allow you to gain technical skills as well as the necessary values and behaviors that are needed for a successful career. Over the past years, we have taken interns from various disciplines, some of whom joined our graduate development program.
bpTT is a significant part of the global bp portfolio contributing circa 11% of its global production. Being part of one of the largest International Energy Companies means you will be exposed to a wealth of career enhancing technical and non-technical knowledge and resources.
As an IC&E Engineer Intern at bpTT, you will be:
Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of IC&E engineering and maintenance work within bpTT’s oil & gas production sites.
Working in a multidiscipline team environment in coordination with several resources including maintenance supervisors, engineers, specialists, craftsmen, and contractor personnel in support of daily maintenance activities and site driven improvements.
Learning and applying both Instrumentation Technologies, such as Level, Pressure and Temperature Transmitters and Low, Medium, and High Voltage power system technologies, such as Transformers, Motors, Breakers, etc.
In addition to working in bpTT, as part of your internship you will also be exposed to:
Social events, lunch & learns and community service opportunities
“Chat with a Leader” sessions
Working with ICE engineers from their early careers to experienced senior engineers
Understanding modern and agile work environments

Project based roles for 12 weeks
Typically for students between their penultimate and final year in program

Minimum Requirements
Citizens of Trinidad & Tobago or a resident who is legally permitted to accept employment in Trinidad & Tobago.
Pursuing Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Controls Engineering with: - a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 OR 4.0 out of 5.0
Currently in the penultimate year of study (pre-final year)
Skillful in the use of MS Office software (Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be available to start on agreed upon June start date
