Job Summary
BP Oil UK Ltd is looking for an Area Manager to guide retail operations across a defined territory. In this role, you will support teams, strengthen partner relationships, and help compose strategies that improve performance and customer experience. You will play a key part in ensuring that each site operates efficiently, meets commercial goals, and delivers a welcoming environment for customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
As an Area Manager, you will:
Support and guide teams to maintain strong operational standards and positive customer experiences.
Review customer insights and performance data to understand trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop territory plans that encourage growth and strengthen market presence.
Coordinate budgets, supervise sales activity, and help ensure financial performance across your area.
Encourage a customer‑focused approach in daily operations and decision‑making.
Communicate clearly with colleagues, partners, and teams to maintain alignment and collaboration.
Provide mentoring and development to team members to help them grow their skills.
Prepare for and participate in negotiations related to operational or commercial agreements.
Promote continuous improvement and support the adoption of company standards and best practices.
Use digital tools to share information, streamline processes, and improve team efficiency.
Stay informed about industry developments and contribute insights that support competitive positioning.
Build and maintain productive relationships with partners to support shared goals.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for someone who brings:
Experience managing multiple retail locations and supporting operational performance.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into practical actions.
A background in commercial decision‑making and improving revenue or profitability.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
A customer‑focused mindset supported by experience using customer data.
Confidence using digital collaboration tools and platforms.
Experience in territory planning and retail development.
Knowledge of the retail fuel industry and current market trends.
Skills in preparing for and participating in negotiations.
A commitment to continuous improvement and operational quality.
The ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a fast‑moving environment.
Experience building and maintaining strong partner relationships.
