Job Description:
This role sits at the centre of bp’s Mobility & Convenience (M&C) business, shaping strategy and helping senior leaders make clear decisions in a sophisticated environment. You will work across strategy development and hands-on execution, connecting long-term ambition with what needs to happen in practice.
The focus is on understanding markets, customers, policy, and competition; translating insight into choices; and supporting leaders to move from direction to delivery. This is a highly visible role that works closely with senior partners across bp and plays a meaningful part in supporting value creation and the transition to lower-carbon mobility.
Role accountabilities
M&CA strategy ownership: Own the development, and execution of the M&CA strategy, ensuring alignment with bp’s Customers strategy, long-term value creation objectives and low carbon ambitions.
Strategic advisor to senior leadership: Act as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership and functional heads across the M&CA business, providing insightful recommendations on growth, portfolio choices, capital allocation, and competitive positioning.
Business transformation leadership: Own and deliver a portfolio of critical initiatives across M&CA customers, coordinating teams, handling priorities, and ensuring quality outputs and measurable business impact.
Strategy implementation and execution: Translate enterprise and Customers-level strategy into clear, actionable roadmaps for the M&CA business, supporting leaders with decision frameworks, milestones, and performance metrics.
Cross-functional development: Partner closely with all bp functions teams to ensure strategies are practical and executable across the value chain. Challenge strategic initiatives and direction where applicable, to ensure conceptual and financial rigor.
Market, customer, and competitor insight: Lead deep analysis of market dynamics, customer needs, regulatory and policy trends, and competitive developments to advise strategic decisions and identify risks and opportunities.
Narrative and communication: Develop compelling strategic narratives and materials for executive forums, governance processes, and key partners, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with bp’s broader strategic story.
Policy and external context support: Support the M&CA leadership in assessing policy, regulatory, and external partner developments relevant to Mobility & Convenience, shaping internal positions and strategic responses.
