Senior Settlements Analyst
As a Senior Settlements Analyst at BP BSC KFT, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of complex financial transactions. You will leverage your analytical skills and trading knowledge to identify and resolve discrepancies, contribute to process improvements, and maintain robust internal controls within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
In this role You will:
- Execute and verify the settlement of various financial instruments, including but not limited to, commodities, derivatives, and foreign exchange, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
- Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve settlement discrepancies and exceptions, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve timely and accurate reconciliation.
- Analyze existing settlement processes to identify areas for improvement, proposing and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve the overall customer experience.
- Maintain a strong understanding of internal control frameworks and compliance requirements, ensuring all settlement activities are performed in accordance with established guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with front office trading teams, operations, finance, and other support functions to facilitate smooth transaction lifecycles.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new settlement procedures and systems, applying creative and innovative thinking to solve complex challenges.
- Proactively engage in thought leadership by staying abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements impacting settlements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a high-pressure environment.
What You will need to be successful:
- Proven experience in financial settlements, preferably within the energy or commodities trading sector.
- Strong analytical thinking skills with a meticulous attention to detail and a proven ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
- Demonstrated experience in business process improvement initiatives, with a track record of successfully implementing more efficient workflows.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- A curious and innovative mindset, with a proactive approach to learning and challenging the status quo.
- A strong understanding of customer experience principles and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Sound decision-making abilities, even under pressure, with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of internal control frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to financial settlements.
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
- Proven ability to exhibit thought leadership, contributing new ideas and perspectives to improve processes and outcomes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial trading instruments and their associated settlement processes.
