Role Summary:

  • Work within an integrated team of engineers and operations to ensure delivery of high-quality wells completion activity, in accordance with bp, safety and technical standards.
  • Support technology assessment, piloting and full-scale implementation for Completion solutions, workovers.
  • Review and recommend enhancements to completions and workover plans/engineering/designs
  • Recommend new processes and best practices for planning and execution aiming to improve overall completion performance and well reliability.
  • Participate in technical discussions within MDT setting for FEL scopes.
  • Function as the CAM (Contract Accountable Manager) as needed.
  • Provide technical coaching to junior staff
  • Promote awareness and compliance with HSE rules and industry practices.
  • Efficiently and consistently apply wells standards, procedures, and practices as well as the appropriate engineering tools with daily tasks and projects.
    Participate and support efficiency improvement exercises such as 5WHYS, mini-RCFA and After-Action Reviews when needed.
  • Provide technical support in the planning and execution of new wells and workover operations.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives for completions and workover operations.
  • Coordinates with Wells Operations during job design to assure understanding and support for the job.
  • Prepares and supports execution of completion/intervention execution programs.
    Reviews performance, identifying lessons learned.
  • Provide engineering support during the job execution stage when required.

What you will deliver

  • Provides the completion engineering expertise required to deliver well designs, planning, and programs that conform to business objectives and are in compliance with local regulations, and are in conformance with all BP Practices and Procedures.
  • Works with cross-functional peers in wells engineering, wells operations, and subsurface to ensure engineering/well planning and design conforms to all project business objectives.
  • Supports the WSUP and the Completion & Intervention Engineering Manager in execution of well operations by leading delivery of completion/intervention engineering support and assurance.
  • Author and deliver Basis of Design Documents for Completions/Completions Fluids/Tubing Stress Analysis. Assess and recommend technology as needed to enhance completion design/performance/efficiency/delivery.
  • Assures a suitable Statement of Requirements/well design input is prepared for a proposed well completion.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum B.Sc. Degree in Engineering from an accredited and recognized university.
  • Minimum of 10 years post-degree relevant work experience in Completions/Interventions Engineering and/or other well construction/servicing related experience.
  • Operational / wellsite Supervisory experience and exposure to multi-discipline operations is considered an asset but not a requirement.
  • Wells Interventions and Integrity experience is considered an asset but not a requirement.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team of wells, subsurface, production and operations team members, tasked with the planning and delivery of bp's Trinidad ongoing activity related to well construction.
