About the One Subsurface Programme

One Subsurface is our early careers programme designed to create a pipeline of subsurface professionals. Early careers will follow a structured development offer to accelerate the acquisition of foundational technical skills, experience and knowledge, and application in the business world. The programme supports transition from university to discipline professional and provides a framework of ‘non-technical’ skills to support building personal effectiveness skills. Early careers will build their experience through challenging development assignments, grow a toolkit of transferable skills for the future, and have a dedicated network of support to help them succeed.

This is a three-year program with two 18-month rotations, including field experience.

About the role

As a Geoscience Graduate, you will work as a Geologist or Geophysicist, supporting exploration, appraisal, development, and production activities. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to characterize the subsurface, assess uncertainty, and support safe and efficient well delivery.

Geologist key responsibilities:

  • Conduct regional geological reviews to support petroleum systems and subsurface evaluations.
  • Develop conceptual models illustrating structural, stratigraphic, and depositional frameworks.
  • Build structural/stratigraphic models to estimate rock volume, reservoir properties, and hydrocarbon in-place.
  • Correlate wells and apply stratigraphic frameworks to define key horizons and relationships.
  • Integrate core, well logs, seismic, and analog data to characterize reservoirs.
  • Work with specialists (reservoir quality, biostratigraphy, etc.) to refine geological interpretations.
  • Support well planning and execution, monitoring drilling data and identifying geological risks.

Geophysicist key responsibilities

  • Interpret 2D/3D seismic data to map structure, horizons, reservoirs, and seals.
  • Produce structural maps, isopachs, and alternative interpretation scenarios.
  • Analyze seismic attributes and inversion products to relate seismic response to rock properties.
  • Perform well ties and wavelet extraction to improve seismic interpretation quality.
  • Conduct regional seismic mapping and integrate results into play fairway evaluations.
  • Build foundational understanding of seismic processing concepts and workflows.
  • Contribute to well planning and execution by analyzing geophysical risks and monitoring drilling data.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a citizen or legal resident of Trinidad and Tobago or CARICOM national
  • Must be pursuing a degree in geoscience, geophysics, geology, earth sciences, physics or closely related discipline.
