Head of AI Innovation & Strategy
We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as our Head of AI Innovation & Strategy. This executive will be responsible for shaping and executing our enterprise-wide strategy for data, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced analytics. The role will drive actionable insights, enable data-driven decision-making, and unlock sustainable competitive advantage.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on thought leader with a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing data science and analytics teams, deploying AI-powered solutions at scale, and translating advanced analytics into measurable business outcomes.
Beyond technical expertise, the Head of AI Innovation & Strategy will play a pivotal role in change leadership - embedding data-driven practices across the organization, aligning business and technology teams, and leading the cultural transformation required to become a truly AI-enabled enterprise.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the AI and analytics vision and strategy aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Champion a culture of innovation, data ethics, and responsible AI adoption.
- Partner with executive leadership to prioritize and pursue high-impact opportunities.
Change Leadership & Adoption
- Lead organizational change efforts to embed AI and analytics into business processes and decision-making.
- Collaborate with HR, communications, and functional leaders to design training, engagement, and communication programs.
- Influence cultural transformation by breaking down silos and fostering collaboration across business units.
- Anticipate and address barriers to adoption, including skills gaps and resistance to change.
Team & Capability Building
- Build, mentor, and lead a diverse, high-performing team of data scientists, ML engineers, analysts, and BI specialists.
- Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment across technology, product, and business teams.
- Develop internal talent pipelines and external partnerships to strengthen analytics capabilities.
AI & Analytics Execution
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics, ML, and AI solutions at scale, including generative AI.
- Ensure solutions are production-ready, secure, and deliver measurable ROI.
- Establish governance, lifecycle management, and best practices for AI/ML.
Data Strategy & Infrastructure
- Partner with data engineering and IT leaders to ensure scalable data architecture, platforms, and pipelines.
- Promote self-service analytics and democratization of data across the enterprise.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.
Performance & Impact
- Define and track KPIs to evaluate the success of AI and analytics initiatives.
- Translate insights into business recommendations that drive growth, innovation, and efficiency.
- Communicate value delivered by AI/analytics initiatives to executive leadership and the board.
Essential Education
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Essential Experience & Job Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data science, and AI, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience with emerging AI technologies such as generative AI, reinforcement learning, or causal AI.
- Demonstrated success implementing AI/ML solutions at scale in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong track record of leading cross-functional change management and driving adoption of new technologies.
- Experience building and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
- Deep understanding of data strategy, data governance, and modern data platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., energy, healthcare, finance, telecom).
- Experience with contextualization and business process platforms operating at scale.
- Proven ability to influence at board and C-suite level.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and external AI/analytics partnerships.
- Publications, patents, or recognized thought leadership in AI, machine learning, or data strategy.
- Global or multi-regional leadership experience.
How much do we pay (Base)? $218,000-$265,000.
*Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
