About the Role
Lead origination strategy for bp’s APac Power & Carbon business, driving growth through innovative deal structures and partnerships. Responsible for P&L, risk management, and team leadership across diverse markets.
Key Accountabilities
- Originate and implement power & carbon transactions (e.g., PPAs, flexibility solutions).
- Deliver commodity flow growth and P&L targets in collaboration with trading teams.
- Develop innovative commercial structures for premium customer sales.
- Lead risk in line with trading appetite and compliance standards.
- Lead and develop a geographically diverse team of originators and analysts.
- Build external partnerships and influence while collaborating with stakeholders.
- Contribute to EAPC Leadership Team and cross-business initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with bp Code of Conduct and operating standards.
Essential Education
- Formal qualifications constituting university degrees, examination certificates that confirm a level of educational attainment or licenses.
- Membership of a technical or professional body that has confirmed an individual has reached a level of capability within the field (usually but not necessary acquired through examinations) or Formal certification that they can undertake specialist work or processes e.g. PMI.
Crucial Experience & Requirements
- Extensive experience in commercial trading and marketing with full deal lifecycle expertise.
- Strong structured finance and risk management skills.
- Deep understanding of APac power and carbon markets, infrastructure, and regulations.
- Consistent track record to influence senior partners and lead teams with varied strengths.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Significant experience in power & carbon trading and marketing.
- Established industry network in AsPac markets.
- Track record in upstream/downstream gas and power markets.
