We are looking for Well Superintendent (WSUP) to join our team!

WSUP will oversee and manage all aspects of well operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling, completion, and intervention activities in the Caspian Sea region. This role requires extensive expertise in various well engineering disciplines and a strong commitment to risk management.

Please note that the role is open for Azerbaijani citizens only.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise well site teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Plan, organize, and execute operations, including equipment selection and procedure development.

  • Oversee the execution of wells, ensuring efficient and safe production commencement.

  • Manage the selection, installation, and maintenance of drilling and completion equipment and accessories

  • Supervise Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations, ensuring wellbore stability and control.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks through comprehensive Risk Management strategies.

  • Monitor and evaluate Supplier Performance Management for all well-related services and equipment.

  • Prepare detailed operational reports, performance analyses, and cost tracking for all well activities.

Job Qualifications

Understanding HSE and work practice expectations are foundational to the role. Basic requirements for team leadership, onshore planning and offshore execution include:

  • 10 years of Wells engineering/operations delivery preferred

  • 5 years in an offshore supervision role

  • Deep experience with SV and LFI execution/tracking

  • 5 years of operations/engineering leadership and decision-making

  • 5 years of performance driven execution in a risk-balance delivery model

  • Previous Well Operations Specialist (WOS) experience is preferred

Certifications

  • Valid IADC equivalent WC certificate, supervisory level

  • Valid BOSIET/HUET

  • Valid OGUK Medical

HSE/ S&OR

  • Implementation of the Wells HSE Bridging and Rig SV/OS in operations

  • Verification of well control equipment, practices and preparedness in accordance with bp Practices and bp Well Control requirements

  • Tracking/assurance of Safety Critical Equipment

  • Tracking of rig audit actions to closure

  • Previous work on investigations of incidents including failure of any Safety Critical Equipment, and track actions to closure

  • Perform rig inspections to verify conformance to BP Practices and requirements

  • Well Control 24/7 cover

People

  • Coach Well Site Leaders (WSLs) in development / base line assessments and gap closure plans

  • Organize superintendent cover during periods of high intensity operations, or as relief for field breaks

  • Develop WSL capability and growth in role through bp training and variable experience

  • Mentor WOS, Operations Engineers, and WSLs in safe, risk balanced approach to business delivery

Business Delivery

  • SPA for Rig Contractor interface and coordination to deliver Top Quartile wells

  • Perform special projects as required in support of WOM

  • Support the implementation of OMS in operations

  • Support development of detailed Operations Plan

  • Support performance improvement processes.

  • Assist PRM’s and feedback to Contractor’s performance evaluations

  • Participate in Operational Risk Assessments and Planning process

  • Leverage the RCC for maximum operational support.

  • Provide visible leadership in process safety through active participation in HAZOPs, FMECAs, etc.
