We are hiring Regional Project Operations Manager in Baku, Azerbaijan!

You will be accountable for leading operations input across major and site projects in the Regional Project Operations Manager for Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye (AGT) and Middle East (ME) regions (primarily Oman).

This role will ensure safe, efficient, and reliable project delivery and start-up, aligning with long-term production strategies and operational excellence.

Please note that the role is open for Azerbaijani citizens only.

Job Responsibilities

Lead Operations input into engineering design, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases of Major (>$100m), Minor (<$100m) and Site projects.

Ensure engineering trade-offs align with long-term production strategies and incorporate lessons learned from existing operations.

Project manage the delivery of operations readiness plans, including training, competence, procedures, maintenance, and integrity systems.

Oversee procurement of spare parts, placement of operations support contracts, and development of start-up procedures and plans.

Develop and manage the Project Operations Staffing Plan and build a competent operating organization aligned with P&O culture and discipline.

Own and manage Pre-Ops Capex budgets for all major projects in the region.

Provide start-up expertise and personnel to all Category B projects, ensuring safe and efficient start-up and transition to operations.

Manage interfaces between Projects, Site Projects, and Production organizations to ensure alignment and smooth handover.

Collaborate with Production/Refining functions to align Regional Readiness Plans with project schedules.

Represent Operations in Project and Production leadership teams, contributing to performance reviews and strategic planning.

Act as Regional Leader for Project Operations managing multiple teams, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement.

In this role, we have the following requirements

Education:

University degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent technical degree (Master’s preferred)

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of proven experience in oil and gas operations.

  • Previous experience as a deployed Project Operations Manager on a Major Project that has been delivered, ready to take on a region wide role.

  • Extensive experience in operational roles and senior-level leadership within oil and gas operations.

  • Proven track record in safety leadership and performance delivery.

  • Advanced technical knowledge in systems and operations management with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Strong people leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate multi-functional teams and manage complex interfaces.

  • Significant experience in operational readiness and start-up of major projects.

  • Ability to recommend and influence OPEX, OE, staffing, and business planning projections.
