Job Summary
As a Transport Reconciliation Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient reconciliation of transport-related invoices and financial data. Your work will directly support cost-effective logistics operations within BP Southern Africa, driving compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoice Reconciliation: Match transport invoices with delivery notes, contracts, and internal systems to ensure accurate billing and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing issues with transport suppliers using strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Contract Management: Support the creation and management of transport service contracts, ensuring compliance with BP policies and securing efficient terms.
- Process Improvement: Conduct business requirements analysis to find opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization in transport operations.
- Cost Analysis: Apply cost modeling techniques to analyze transport spend and highlight areas for savings.
- Agility Practices: Use Agility tools and core practices to streamline reconciliation workflows and boost team efficiency.
- Sourcing Strategy: Chip in to sourcing strategies for transport services, including supplier selection and relationship management.
- Market Intelligence: Leverage product and market insights to advise procurement decisions and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Negotiation Planning: Prepare and participate in negotiations for transport contracts to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Digital Proficiency: Apply financial and logistics software platforms optimally to handle data and reporting.
- Value Creation: Identify and implement initiatives that bring value and enhance transport reconciliation processes.
- Discernment: Develop a strong understanding of how transport costs impact overall business profitability.
Qualifications
- Validated experience in financial reconciliation or transport administration.
- Familiarity with Agility core practices and tools.
- Strong understanding of business principles and their application in a commercial setting.
- Experience in business requirements analysis and process improvement.
- Knowledge of contract creation and management procedures.
- Ability to perform cost modeling and financial analysis.
- High level of digital fluency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise systems.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful dispute resolution.
- Experience in negotiation planning and execution.
- Ability to collect and apply product and market intelligence.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and supply to value creation initiatives.
