About the role:
As Technology Adoption Lead, you will shape bp’s technology strategy and long-term roadmap in close collaboration with our strategy team. You’ll develop and manage the 10-year Technology Plan, lead execution through cross-functional squads, and drive the acquisition and deployment of innovative technologies. This role also partners with bp Ventures to ensure strategic and operational alignment across technology investments.
What you will deliver:
Develop and refine bp’s 10-year Technology Plan aligned with corporate strategy.
Identify future technology trends and translate strategic objectives into actionable adoption roadmaps.
Lead cross-functional squads to deliver adoption goals; monitor progress and resolve blockers.
Manage end-to-end technology acquisition, onboarding, and integration; maintain a pipeline of emerging technologies.
Design and implement adoption frameworks, including change management, training, and partner engagement.
Track adoption metrics and feedback to improve strategies; champion innovation across bp.
Partner with bp Ventures for strategic alignment on technology investments.
Engage senior partners, secure sponsorship, and provide governance updates.
Inspire teams to embrace new technologies; foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Mentor and support team members involved in adoption initiatives.
What you will need to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in technology, IT, engineering, or equivalent experience.
Proven track record in technology strategy, innovation, or transformation roles.
Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their application in energy or industrial sectors.
Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-wide technology adoption initiatives, including change enablement and performance tracking.
Broad knowledge of digital and physical technology landscapes
Excellent facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills
Ability to lead by influence and bring diverse partners together
Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and commercial delivery
Knowledge of modern delivery and collaboration methodologies
Understanding of technology readiness levels
Proven ability to drive innovation and deliver projects successfully
Expert decision-making and analytical skills
