The Trading Analytics & Insights team operates within the front office, delivering a wide range of analytical solutions that drive energy commodities trading. Within this group, the Structuring team plays a relevant role in supporting Oil, Gas, Power, Carbon, and LNG markets.
We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Structurer to join our team and provide structuring expertise to the AsPac Power business within the Gas & Power Trading International (GPTI) organization. In this role, you will work closely with traders, originators, and business partners to develop and analyze innovative structures. You will also develop and refine valuation and hedging models for energy assets and sophisticated structured transactions, while assisting in deal structuring and valuation by identifying and quantifying embedded optionality, risks, and key value drivers.

Key Accountabilities:
Physical and Financial products valuation
Develop and improve physical and financial products valuation models and techniques
Handle expertise in industry-standard models and methods, ensuring accurate calibration and deal evaluation, while understanding their strengths, limitations, and practical applications.
Communicate to traders, origination and other analysts.
Provide commercial insight into the valuation process, devising and advocating alternate deal structures to improve value for the business.
Able to defend the results, develop relevant feedback and explain structured transactions in basic components.
Work with wider commercial team and functions
Develop and improve approaches to value/assess non-standard or non-price risks imbedded in transactions on the go.
Assist mid and back office personnel in understanding of proposed deals and develop a collaborative relationship around the booking/modelling of live deals within the middle office and risk systems.
Collaborate with parties to identify and quantify both market and non-market risks and assist proposing hedging and mitigations.
Education
Degree or equivalent experience level qualification in a highly numerate subject (e.g. mathematics, economics, physics, engineering) with a strong academic record
Experience and Job Requirements
Experience in quant / structuring / analyst roles in trading houses or banks
Exposure to deal structuring/valuation of exotic gas/power products, tolling arrangements, renewable PPAs, energy storage systems, etc. and cashflow modelling for the same.
Good understanding of the key elements of the value chain and key drivers setting commodity prices, spreads and non-linear product pricing
Ability to maintain tools and sophisticated models
High attention to detail to ensure robust and reliable analysis
Clear and succinct interpersonal skills in order to explain impact on deal value of price changes (level, spreads and dynamics) as well as valuation assumptions and hedge strategies
Confidence to challenge assumptions, build collaborative relationships across teams, and quickly identify, prioritize, and act on high-impact opportunities with practical solutions.
Preferred Criteria & Qualifications
Postgraduate qualification in finance or quantitative area
Desired experience in handling exposure and valuation of oil, natural gas and power physical assets, and structured transactions, such as pipelines, storage, power plants, and exotic options.
Candidates with no commodity experience but with strong statistical modelling or quantitative research skills will also be considered.
