Job Description:

Bp's customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India. This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, demonstrating technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. Shift Timing: 5.30 PM to 2.30 AM IST (EST Timezone)

About the role:
Our Demand Planners play a key role in ensuring we generate a demand plan for our regional performance units (PUs), to support the PU S&OP process, bringing together our customer requirements and assumptions through close collaboration with PU Sales teams.

Through our Global Planning Digital tool, Kinaxis Maestro, PU Demand Planners own the demand plan for system-generated and cleansed statistical model and add in appropriate Intelligence from Sales and Marketing teams. This will include detailed analysis of key data, insights, and assumptions, and through a close collaboration with markets Sales teams to adjust the demand plan appropriately to reflect our customer genuine realistic unconstrained demand.

This position requires proven demand planning experience, combining strong statistical modelling skills within our digital planning tool (Kinaxis Maestro) with having the ability to develop positive relationships with Sales and Marketing in the markets to create a robust Demand Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and statistical models within our global Planning tool Kinaxis Maestro. This includes appropriately cleansing historical events, running robust statistical modelling, and deciding what is appropriate Intelligence to add looking forward.
  • Monitor and analyze forecast accuracy, forecast value, forecast bias, through multiple levels of granularity, identifying and addressing deviations for action and alignment with portfolio Sales team
  • Provide insights into demand trends, seasonality, and risks to improve planning accuracy

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with PU Sales and Marketing team members and align realistic Demand Plans to feed into Supply Planning teams.
  • Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process by communicating the updated demand insights along with key changes to assumptions, working with the PU S&OP Manager
  • Work closely with Sales, Finance and PU S&OP Manager on opportunities and vulnerabilities to the demand forecast to assess impact on attainment of business targets
  • Collaborating with other PU teams and global Demand Planning Excellence lead to ensure adoption of required global frameworks and best practices

Systems & Reporting

  • Utilize demand planning tool, Kinaxis Maestro to enhance forecasting capabilities.
  • Maintain and improve reporting dashboards to track key performance indicators such as forecast accuracy, bias, and inventory levels.
  • Continuously improve demand planning processes through data-driven insights and best practices.

Experience and Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, Business, Statistics, or a related field (master's preferred).

Experience:

8-12 years of experience in demand planning or related role in consumer goods, food & beverage, or manufacturing industries.

  • Proven experience as a Demand Planner using an advanced digital Planning tool, desirably Kinaxis Maestro
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain software (Kinaxis Maestro highly desirable) and ERP systems (SAP ECC, S4 Hana, JDE)
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work effectively with Commercial and Sales teams based in other countries
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
