Job Summary: As a Staff Data Engineer in our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale databases to support business applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems with other enterprise software solutions. Your role will involve managing database security, performance tuning, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement database strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective database designs.
• Ensure the scalability, availability, and security of mission-critical databases.
• Perform thorough system monitoring and proactive issue resolution to minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement optimization techniques for optimal database efficiency.
• Maintain strong communication channels with project leads, developers, and end-users to address database-related issues promptly.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior staff members, promoting their career advancement.
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
• Experience with relational database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to team goals.
