Job Description:

The Blending Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe execution of blending operations, ensuring product quality and adherence to established procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor blending equipment and machinery according to established operating procedures and production schedules.
  • Accurately measure, mix, and transfer raw materials to achieve specified product formulations and quality standards. Perform in-process quality checks and make necessary adjustments to blending parameters to maintain product specifications.
  • Strictly adhere to all Control of Work (CoW) protocols, including obtaining permits and conducting safety checks before commencing tasks.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or safety hazards promptly.
  • Participate actively in Maintenance general activities, including routine inspections, minor troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to Cost-conscious decision-making by optimizing material usage, minimizing waste, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure all blending operations comply with company Procedures and practices, as well as relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Support Reliability general efforts by maintaining equipment in good working order and reporting any issues that could impact operational reliability.
  • Implement and follow Risk Management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential hazards associated with blending operations.
  • Demonstrate strong Safety Leadership by promoting a safe working environment, adhering to all safety policies, and encouraging safe practices among colleagues.
  • Assist with Turnaround general activities, including equipment preparation, shutdown, and start-up procedures, as required.
  • Maintain accurate production records, logs, and documentation.
  • Ensure the work area is kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.


Job Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a blending or manufacturing environment, preferably within the lubricants or chemical industry.
  • Solid understanding and practical application of Control of Work (CoW) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to make Cost-conscious decisions in an operational setting.
  • Basic knowledge of Maintenance general principles and practices.
  • Strong adherence to established Procedures and practices.
  • Awareness of Reliability general principles in a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management techniques and their application in an industrial environment.
  • Commitment to Safety Leadership and a proactive approach to workplace safety.
  • Experience or understanding of Turnaround general processes is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, process flow diagrams, and operating manuals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to perform duties that may involve lifting, standing, and working in various environmental conditions.
