About the programme
Our 12-week local programme commences in March 2026 and is designed to give you maximum exposure to our non-technical disciplines. You’ll become part of a collaborative and inclusive workplace as you build on your technical and interpersonal skills, and you’ll enjoy access to some of the most talented people in their fields.
You will be working on projects with real impact to our business. You’ll be placed in a team that best matches your skillset and ambitions and be an integral part of the team’s success. Alongside this, a buddy will help you network and learn everything you need to perform in the organisation.
Available positions
Communication & external affairs (C&EA)
Communications & external affairs (C&EA) exist to protect and enhance bp’s reputation while creating value for its businesses. We achieve this by strengthening bp’s reputation and brand to support our purpose and ambition; being disciplined, creative and bold as we execute our campaigns – building understanding of our strategy and showing we’re in action in delivering it, fostering a favourable external environment that supports our businesses now and in the future, strengthening relationships with a wide base of stakeholders, preparing for and responding effectively to unforeseen events and challenges.
Procurement
When it comes to the way we work, we have ambitious plans to make our business leaner, faster and more effective, maximising the value we deliver and making sure we’re working as efficient as we can. Driving these plans to fruition is our procurement team. Joining us in procurement, you’ll directly impact bp’s overall business performance and sustainability. From working with our suppliers to streamlining the way we work, you’ll refine and sharpen the process at bp and create a template for our continued success.
Finance
Finance manages financial planning, analysis, reporting, tax, audit, and commercial finance. Key Roles include Financial Analysts, Accountants, Audit, Commercial and many more, each requiring specific skills and expertise. Finance combines technical finance skills, business knowledge and a transformation mindset, to create & protect value for bp. One of our key responsibilities is to provide the right information, to the right people at the right time to enable better decision making across bp.
Roles and responsibilities
Magang:
Assist teams with routine tasks such as organizing files, scheduling meetings, and handling basic administrative duties.
Help with research, data entry, and documentation to support ongoing projects or initiatives.
Participate in training sessions, shadow professionals, and apply feedback to grow professionally.
Join meetings, share ideas, and work with different departments to understand how the business operates.
Show responsibility, punctuality, and respect for workplace rules and company values.
The precise nature of your role and task will be determined by your skills as well as the needs of the business but your responsibilities include:
Working on tasks and supporting your squad to find the best solutions
Helping to maintain performance within your squad and for bp as a company
Building relationships within bp, collaborating across functions and squads to deliver excellence
Demonstrating agility, initiative and dedication through the bp “Who we are”.
During your internship you’ll get continuous feedback and guidance on how to plan and deliver your assigned project or task, along with advice on what to look for and who to talk to. You’ll also be encouraged, individually and together with your Intern peer group, to find out as much as possible about other teams, disciplines and operations to broaden your understanding of the bp business.
To be eligible for the programme you are:
Be part of ethnicities of Papua or parent(s) originally from the land of Papua.
Have a relevant Bachelors (S1) or Masters (S2) or PhD (S3) degree in related roles, such as:
C&EA: communication, international relations, literature, education, public policy
Procurement: industrial engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, management, finance, economics
Finance: finance, accounting
Have a willingness to learn, a passion to excel and deliver results
Graduation criteria for eligibility for internship: graduated by December 2025
