As bp transitions to a coordinated energy company, we must adapt to a changing world and maintain driven performance. bp’s customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India. This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, using technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. Job Title: Business Project SME Lead


Shift Timing: UK Shift


Job Purpose:

Accountable for playing a principle role in leading business projects which support the strategic aims of the business.

This purpose of this role is to lead, manage or input to specific projects and activities on behalf of the PU. By leading day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of (multiple) and/or large-scale projects of strategic significance the job holder will be minimizing our exposure and risk across the respective projects


Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage projects which support the strategic aims of the business.

  • Proactively anticipates issues/barriers and project risk, identifying solutions and appropriate actions before problems can increase.

  • Be highly skilled at writing FM’s, including financial frameworks, managing project budgets, and following up on project metrics.

  • Effectively establish, manage and leads project governance structure. Independently tracks project progress against schedule and monitors against quality standards. Delivers projects in scope, on time, on budget.

  • Actively seeks out and secures team member engagement at all levels in the organisation and acts on advice from the project sponsors and LT.

  • Applies Project Management techniques and tools with rigor.

  • Work closely with the Portfolio manager to ensure that PM processes are consistently embedded and applied within our organization.

Experience Required:

  • The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of proven experience in project management

  • Substantial business operational experience and a strong commercial competence

  • Experience of working on transformation projects

  • Demonstrated understanding of product life cycle management
