Let me tell you about the role
This role is pivotal in the delivery of bp’s ANZ Strategy, leading the development of high-impact commercial initiatives across Australia and New Zealand and responsible for strategic thought leadership and critical thinking to drive these value opportunities for bp.
You will be responsible for leading the commercial and financial modelling, investment appraisal, and deal structuring to enable informed decision-making and unlock growth opportunities.
This role reports to the Head of Strategy and Commercial Development ANZ on the ANZ Mobility, Convenience and Midstream (MC&M) Leadership Team.
What you will deliver
- Drive strategic thought leadership and critical thinking in facilitation of delivering the ANZ Strategy
- Build robust financial and commercial models.
- Support investment appraisals and decision documentation. Coordinate internal inputs for commercial and strategic proposals.
- Lead the preparation of pitch decks, executive briefings, and coordinate the Group Investment Assurance and Approvals Process (GIAAP) by developing relevant governance documents to support business development
- Support and lead business development origination, identifying and screening multiple opportunities; preparing negotiations, support investment appraisals and optimising of deal structures
- Lead the development and management opportunities hopper across ANZ
- Gather competitor intelligence, develop local and regional insight in support of business development opportunities
- Represent ANZ at business forums & working groups to leverage BP Group knowledge
- Support integration of the ANZ strategy across the region to ensure overall strategy is coherent and aligns with global strategic priorities
What you will need to be successful
- 5+ years professional experience in commercial and financial modelling; energy market analysis
- Financial literacy
- Commercial Acumen: Strategic thought leadership and critical thinking to drive value opportunities
- Investment Appraisal: Building robust commercial and financial models and supporting governance processes. Excellent skills in evaluating and developing commercial options.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Representing Projects in stakeholder forums seeking alignment throughout all Project stages
- Communication: Strong communication skills, ability to prepare pitch decks for executive audience, lead internal approval processes and executive briefings and guiding projects through these processes.
- Deal Structuring: Assisting in shaping and optimising deal terms and structures
- Project and Programme Management: Ability to manage opportunity hoppers and prioritise by value
- Offer Execution and Growth: Ability to support pilot and scale-up of initiatives across business functions
- Good knowledge of ANZ energy markets
- Strong understanding of price exposure and risk management
You will work with
Internally across all business and support functions including Midstream, Mobility and Convenience, Finance, Procurement, Marketing, Legal, Trading, Communications and External Affairs; ANZ Leadership Team and externally with Customers, other oil companies, producers, trading companies.
