Role Overview

Reporting to the SVP of Digital Security, the Vice President of OT(Operational Technology) Cybersecurity will be responsible for improving and executing a comprehensive cybersecurity vision that protects our operational technology environments, industrial control systems (ICS), and critical infrastructure. This role will require a deep understanding of both OT and IT, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of building and managing world-class cybersecurity programs. This role will lead pragmatic conversations with both technologists and engineers about the wide range of assets and risks our business has.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global OT cybersecurity strategy, aligned with enterprise risk management and business objectives.

  • Lead design, deployment, operation and continuous improvement of security controls for OT environments, including ICS, SCADA, and IIoT systems.

  • Partner with engineering, operations, and Technology teams to embed security across the full OT lifecycle.

  • Establish governance frameworks, policies, and compliance programs (NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, etc.) for OT cybersecurity.

  • Lead a high-performing OT cybersecurity team, developing our people as well as technology.

  • Oversee OT-focused vulnerability management, solutions development, conformance support, and incident response.

  • Engage with regulators, customers, and industry partners to maintain bp’s position as a leader in OT security.

  • Advise senior leadership and the Board on OT cybersecurity risk posture, investment priorities, and emerging threats.

  • Drive awareness and culture change across the organization to strengthen security in operational environments.

Skills & Experience

  • Depth of cybersecurity or OT engineering experience, with significant time in leadership roles.

  • Consistent track record leading OT/ICS cybersecurity programs in industries such as energy, utilities, oil & gas, manufacturing, or transportation.

  • Deep knowledge of OT security standards and frameworks (IEC 62443, NERC CIP, NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK for ICS).

  • Strong grasp of industrial control systems design and OT/IT convergence challenges.

  • Exceptional executive communication skills, with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working with regulators, auditors, and external partners on cybersecurity risk and compliance.

  • Advanced degree in Cybersecurity or Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GICSP, CCISO) a plus.
